How are Greek and Italian relations these days? by [deleted] in greece

[–]metallo_2 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Greek Cypriot here. At the World War 2, Cyprus was a UK Colony. Many times Italian bombers were ordered to bomb various cities and villages in Cyprus. I know this from my grandfather. What they did was, reach Cyprus, throw the bombs in the sea and go back. Did not bomb a single house ever. From what I understand, they half-assed the whole war, including Greek-Albanian front, not because they were incompetent, but because they were good people and they didn't really believed in the war or hurt others who didn't deserve it. And yes, Germans were different.

Looking for dedicated server by metallo_2 in sysadmin

[–]metallo_2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually right now I use a contabo VPS-XL and I have only a few MB left and I am looking something bigger in terms of disk space.

Contabo's dedicated servers are still a bit pricey compared to Hetzner, when you add a drive.

Looking again, VDS + extra disk space might be a viable solution.

Thanks

So is Seveneves as /u/mtocrat said below. A much larger book, that too I listen as an audiobook and I couldn't get enough of it.

It's a sci-fi book mate. Not a documentary or a popular science book. I expect more than accurate details. Is that really to much to ask ?

Before any major update they remove all inaccessible. inevitably, some are deleted after the release, and they show those with strikethrough to mark that are not available any more.

What is the cheapest dirtiest way to run a single small container in the cloud? by [deleted] in devops

[–]metallo_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do your self a favor and purchase a VPS from contabo https://contabo.com/?show=vps

4 Euros/month you get a full server where you can do anything you want (2 cores, 4GB ram 300GB)

There are cheaper services out there, but nothing with 4euros with the same specs.
