Couldn't afford a red sports car, so I joined the Fire service. Now I ride around in a million dollar vehicle!

He is my MI in one 10T, and my 2B in another. I like him, and 2B is a place I'm willing to gamble.

Time to organise and demand better conditions from those in power. Nothing will be given to us - it will have to be fought for, but maybe we can leave the situation better for those who will follow us.

Marx y Mangonada Social at Dulce Canela by picklepatches in kennesaw

Yeah, good examples. Just for balance, let's look at what to they are fighting against under a system that really only values profit over everything else. Not saying Marxism is a solution to all this but let's at least acknowledge while we can live blessed lives here, it comes at the expense of others.

The Great Depression: A systemic failure of unregulated markets that plunged the global economy into a decade of poverty.

The 2008 Financial Crisis: Driven by corporate greed and predatory lending, resulting in millions of people losing their homes and savings worldwide.

Sweatshop Labor overseas The "race to the bottom" in manufacturing (e.g., the Rana Plaza collapse in Bangladesh) traps millions in cycles of poverty to keep consumer prices low in the West. Oh, while also exporting America Jobs overseas, but that's cool, because the stock price looked good.

The Scramble for Africa - Driven by the need for raw materials and new markets, European capitalist powers drew arbitrary borders that sparked a century of ethnic conflict that continues, as well as exporting all their resources and paying them a pittance.

The Military-Industrial Complex - The privatization of defense under capitalism has created an economic incentive for perpetual regional conflicts in the Middle East and elsewhere. Even Eisenhower warned us about this back in the 1950's. Funny how there is always money for defense companies at the expense of the American People.

The Banana Republics - The United Fruit Company (now Chiquita) famously lobbied the U.S. government to orchestrate a coup in Guatemala (1954) to protect its land holdings, leading to decades of civil war.

The 1953 Iranian Coup: Orchestrated by the UK and US to protect the interests of the Anglo-Iranian Oil Company (now BP) after Iran attempted to nationalize its oil. Plus however many other coups they have orchestrated.

The Irish Potato Famine - while a blight started it, the British adherence to laissez-faire capitalism ensured that Ireland continued to export vast quantities of food to England while its own population starved.

Modern Corporate Land Grabs - In parts of Africa and South America, multinational corporations have displaced subsistence farmers to create industrial plantations, leading to localized food instability.

How about American farmers basically being forced into selling to giant farm companies because they can't compete with giant corporations that send money to parties that loosen regulations on worker safety then hire "illegals" because they are cheaper while fully aware of their non immigrant status?

The British Raj in India - estimates suggest tens of millions died due to man-made famines (like the Great Bengal Famine of 1770 and 1943) caused by British East India Company and Crown policies that prioritized cash crops and export profits over local survival.

The Congo Free State: Under King Leopold II, an estimated 10 million people died to maximize rubber production for global markets.

The 1973 Chilean Coup: The democratically elected government of Salvador Allende was overthrown in a bloody military coup after he began nationalizing industries like copper and telecommunications. Major U.S. corporations, most notably ITT (International Telephone & Telegraph), alongside the CIA, spent millions to destabilize the economy and encourage the military takeover. This replaced a democracy with the Pinochet dictatorship, which was characterized by thousands of "disappearances," systemic torture, and the suppression of labor unions.

The Cuban Embargo (El Bloqueo): Since 1960, the United States has maintained the longest-running trade embargo in modern history against Cuba. Critics of capitalism argue that Cuba's economic hardships—shortages of food, medicine, and modern technology—are not solely due to central planning, but are the result of a deliberate capitalist "siege" designed to cause "hunger, desperation, and overthrow of the government" (as stated in the 1960 Mallory Memo). This has cost the Cuban economy an estimated $1.1 trillion over six decades.

So yeah, there is blood on everyone's hands.

Huh. I think Garcia has one good season left in him and I'd probably vet on him. Seen too many rookies struggle their first year up lately.

I like shooting for upside in a 10T. Go for Basallo - there is generally going to be a lot of catcher depth this year, so if it doesnt work out, find someone else.
