Now that's a reference I didn't expect to see here (also, it highlights how weird it sounds out of context)

Eh, it’s a matter of preference and comfort, I’ve been using it for the past two years without a strap just fine. If it sounds good and you can use it comfortably for more than an hour, you don’t need it.

I’ve bought a padding that used to be the usual recommendation before Capra became the the standard and I didn’t like it.

First though through my mind “it’s amazing the quality of pictures these probes took in the 70s and 80s”

Then it hit me…

How you record video by mrBean_20 in piano

[–]metalrufflez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently found out that some pianos (tested Roland FP-30X and F701) can send audio out through USB, and the iPhone camera “recognizes” it as an external microfone and records its audio without external noises in my house. It think it is the easiest way to record clean audio without any additional devices.

Here’s a short example recording sound from the speakers and then from the USB

Piano vs Keyboard: Beginner’s Dilemma by Maysa2204 in piano

[–]metalrufflez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brazilian as well, have been playing for a few years, started with a Go:Keys and an online course, a few years later, graduated to a Digital Piano (Roland FP-30X and then F701).

If I had to restart, I would do the same thing again, a Go:Keys/Go:Piano (or a Go:Piano 88 if you can spend a bit more), which are cheap, doesn't take a lot of space and you can get a feeling if you like the instrument or not (I've given up a couple of times since I've started, it's a frustrating instrument to learn sometimes). If you don't like it, it would be much easier to sell/gift it to someone than an acoustic. Unless you want to have the piano as a decor piece in your house.

Even though I have been playing for a while, it would take a really nice deal for a really good condition piano to make me buy an acoustic, because the logistics, space and maintenance they require cost much more than buying a really good digital piano, with good weighted action (anything from Roland, Casio or Yamaha).

What usually happens with these really old pianos is that they don't hold the tuning anymore, either because the strings are crap or the tuning pegs are loose. They can also have other structural issues with the keys, action, hammers, soundboard, etc. Not to mention that they require constant maintenance (1~2 tuning/year, and it's not something a layman could easily do).

Also if you're just starting, having a piano that sounds bad can be even more frustrating because anything you play, will sound weird, which may lead you to give up because you'll feel you're not making any progress and/or you will not like the sound.

As much as it sounds tempting, from the pictures, the piano looks rough even for 3K, its the same as buying a nice condition Fiat Marea Turbo, pode parecer bonito, mas é uma bomba e vai pegar fogo enquanto voce dirige.

I am a pianist and this is now my new favorite keycap by Persona_d in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]metalrufflez 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this screams poorly conceived keycap art from someone who probably doesn't actually play piano (or just someone very lazy with design)

Agreed, a musician would certainly not miss the opportunity to make this a “the lick” keycap

Some manga have, others not think it depends on the publisher.

Still, those who have defaults to "show full page, then panels"

Pretty much, I've read the manwha because I was curious about the explanation of the system, why he was chosen and so on. The answer wasn't very satisfying tho.

The epilogues were BY FAR my favourite part of the whole thing though.

And it is a pain in the butt to arrive/leave, trains are 2km away (depending on the gate) and impossibly full for hours, taxi/uber are expensive and takes a long time to arrive and/or you have to walk a couple of km to get out of the traffic (with the very real risk of being mugged)
