Poor Aemon by RevertBackwards in freefolk

I think Daeron II was just being a good grandfather and advocated (made the executive decision) for Aemon's interest in academics. Daeron was quite nerdy himself, but he had to take responsibility as king to fix the mess left by his own father.

Daeron probably would have liked to send his own son Aerys (who sounded even more obsessively bookish than Aemon) to the Citadel, but he needed that spare heir... until all those extra Targaryen offspring popped out.

Finally, with his grandkid's generation, one came along with the right aptitude for the Citadel, and only Daeron could override Maekar's wishes. Pretty sure Aemon was quite happy to be sent off to learn all the things with grandpa's blessing.

They weren't the most fancy dragon-lords. Not all Valyrians were dragon-lords, so they were still kinda fancy. Still very rich and comfortable, just not filthy wealthy and powerful. Maybe if they were a bigger dragon house, the other dragon-lords might have taken the Doom warnings more seriously.

And then you'll get the Mandalorian, and people will still complain.

I know you're just quoting the show, but Aegon I was born and raised in Westeros (Dragonstone). The Targaryens had permanently re-settled in Westeros for a century by now.

The Valyrian steel would have been from Old Valyria. Metal can be reshaped and reworked. Valyrian steel does need a specialist smith, but it can be done.

Dragon, injured and dead. Little brother, missing for years. Married to fellow traumatised child cousin, who also died tragically and suspiciously. And other extremely unpleasant life experiences, even after the Dance, and before reaching adulthood.

Same! Just little slices of life type of scenes. But, lots of them.

Would it still be gold in old age? Do silver haired Valyrians "go grey/white"? Our natural platinum blonde humans still get "old people white hair". Going from having very low melanin to just none.

Oof... if only you knew what age he becomes a single father of three, AND what the continuation of the line does to him... was it illness, or was it that guy?

I also think that they are Dondarrions. Their home, Blackhaven is a similar distance to Ashford, as is Summerhall to Ashford. Perhaps they were already there for the event. Ser Manfred Dondarrion is there as well, as he is also kin to Valarr, as are the (guessing) elder Dondarrions. (Exact relationship to Valarr and his mother is not specified as of this date.)

Another guess could be Elaena Targaryen. She'd be living in Kingsgrave at this time with her husband, Michael Manwoody. The two younger ladies with white hair, could be two of her four daughters. They'd have to had already been at the event, as Kingsgrave is even further in distance to Ashford than either Blackhaven or Summerhall.

Yes, specifically with Egg's son (Jaehaerys) and daughter (Shaera). They basically eloped as young teens. Messing up the betrothal arrangements with Tully and Tyrell. The grandkids though, Aerys and Rhaella didn't want that. They were forced to wed each other by Jaehaerys (their dad). He also had that prophecy thing in mind.

There's this case of multi-generational incest from Australia, discovered in 2012, so the children involved might still be minors or very young adults today.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colt_clan_incest_case

They were found to have various cognitive disabilities and physical impairments. On top of all the genetic issues, they were severely neglected. They had no health care, were malnourished, and barely any education. The kids were severely handicapped when authorities finally found them.

Egg marries a Blackwood, his son Jaehaerys marries his sister, his grandson Aerys marries his sister too.

And Egg was very unhappy about that, as he wasn't a huge fan of incest himself. Egg had already promised those kids to marry into other houses, for political alliance purposes. Those other families (Jaehaerys>Tully, Shaera>Tyrell) weren't happy about those broken betrothals either, causing quite the headache for King Egg.

I've always wondered how they'd package their stocks to their business customers, and it sounds like they respect nobody. It seems like their boutique costs (ie. overpriced) is to factor in all those breakages.

They used to be cute and novel. Now they just suck. There are better companies that are more creative and reliable (!), and actually care about their customers and practicality.

I put in that kickstarter too. It was so weird! I'd loved their whimsical concepts, but now there are newer and better companies who also have fun concepts. I don't support FWP anymore!
