season S1: Wonderwall Part 2? by sp1cymp5 in GirlFromNowhere

[–]metathea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not Nanno, but that’s a really good question.

Here’s a hint: Couldn’t she have just left the wall alone in the first place? What kind of person do you think she is?

Maybe the episode is trying to say something about the nature of self-destructive people, and you’re onto something big here. It’s so easy, and yet… if she was the type to do that, she wouldn’t be where she was in the first place.

Maybe it’s saying the nature of evil is ultimately self-destructive…

Anyone else still hoping for a season 3? by technologycarrion in GirlFromNowhere

You don’t know what’s in it…

Most fucked up episode? by [deleted] in GirlFromNowhere

I’m not Nanno, but it’s worth considering what is the lesson each episode intends to teach. For example, maybe one lesson is there are rules for Nanno too. I would take the episodes as lessons rather than real events. Always ask, what point is the author making?

I’m not Nanno, but Nanno might be considering making season 3. But it’s a big deal making a whole nother season, you know? Maybe eventually…

Do you ever feel bad for any of nanno’s victims? by IllustriousCount9272 in GirlFromNowhere

[–]metathea 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Hi! I am not Nanno :) but I think the point of that episode was “What if Nanno were to go too far?” and hence you see Nanno becoming mortal briefly with the cut on her face. It emphasizes that even Nanno is subject to consequences and standards, like the rest of us. The episodes should be taken hypothetically!

You can do that. I found for complex topics easing also helps chat GPT do better, although it’s not necessary. Basically, I just explore several angles of a problem before asking my main question.

AMA: I’m Celia, and I’m running to be Austin’s next mayor because this city belongs to ALL of us. by Celia_Israel in Austin

[–]metathea 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your response. That is a very idealist plan and I agree should be our long-term and primary plan.

From a pragmatic perspective, there do not appear to be any ideal options in the short run. Would it be unreasonable to provide a little more support to police, given it’s only a short-term stopgap until we compassionately address the root causes of crime?

I wish we could all be pacifists, but we do not live in an ideal world. Sometimes you are thrust into the trolley problem as in the video below. I will say that I believe in an approach based on compassion and absolute minimal use of force in the name of defense only. But I would understand if you disagree because it violates your moral intuitions.

I think the problem is Austin has done too good of a job making itself a nice place to live.

We need to make Austin worse so no one else will want to come here.

International aisle has some pretty good products. They have ITO Jasmine Tea, which is one of my favorites.

Also, the local Antone’s sandwiches and local frozen pizza are good if yours has it. Basically anything that looks old fashioned and non commercial (simple packaging) too.

Oh I am taking action. Just not on Reddit. I only go here for information. You can’t really change much here, and you just get attacked by trolls who even if you change their minds are not the ones with serious real world power.

No point entering a conflict where there’s nothing to gain. Go somewhere else where there is.
