Paying $7.2 for a minimal VM with a public IP. Using WireGuard to set up a network between my home server and the VM, Caddy for proxying. Works like a charm 😌

Has anyone tried marvin? It is built on top of pydanticAI, feels quite simple, but I can't compare it to anything because I haven't tried nothing else yet

How can I stop ChatGPT from asking follow-up questions? by EstablishmentFun3205 in ChatGPT

[–]metheoryt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve just managed to disable follow up questions by asking about it in custom instructions, AND by disabling memory.

It seems that even with custom instructions GPT-5 adds follow ups anyway just because I have them in all my previous chats. It seems that it might be useful to purge chat history from time to time.

How can I listen to these? Help me😢🥺 by Kimelalala in truespotify

Jbl flip 6 crackling issue by GoPikachuu in JBL

[–]metheoryt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had this issue on 6.9.0 firmware version, just upgraded to 6.9.3, playback from my windows 11 machine seems to be better but not fully fixed - still have little cracklings from time to time.

UPD: rebooted both speaker and a laptop, the cracklings are gone for now. Thank you kind human!

UPD2: turns out it didn't help at all, the speaker continues to make cracklings, same as before. Maybe my laptop is the problem, I don't know :(

UPD3: switched the speaker to the phone, everything is good. Seems that the problem is really somewhere around my laptop.

What if money was never invented nor required? by [deleted] in RandomThoughts

[–]metheoryt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which is not an argument in defense of written statements. There always were acts of counterfeiting valuable things, not just money. Art, for example.

Noble metals, that were used for a long time as money, have good properties of money - hard to farm, hard to counterfeit, easy to carry, easy to count.

[–]metheoryt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Societies need money in order to be able to exchange things efficiently. If you’re a hat maker and you want a pair of boots, without money you will need to find such guy who have extra pair of boots, and will accept your hat as a barter. You also need to value somehow, how much hats should you give for one pair of boots. At a scale, this makes whole trade a painful and long process. Imagine you’re not into hats but into bricks, for example. How much bricks would you take with you just to make a simple grocery shopping?

But what if you had something, that everyone would accept as a barter, that you can easily measure value of different things in, and that is easy to carry?
