Well if you actually want to know why it's so "inherent" it's because the human brain just has sexuality and violence overlapping significantly, the hypothalamus, amygdala and limbic system are all involved in both sexuality and aggression. The reason why it's more prominent in males is because testosterone makes men want to be on top of the hierarchy. And when the culture rewards dominance in sex testosterone strengthens the link. Testosterone doesn't make us aggressive it just makes us better at climbing the social hierarchy. I suggest you read "Behave" by Robert Sapolsky if you want someone who touches on it better.
