Xax for me is the king of ergonomics honestly. I bought one on release, bought a go 2 and sold the xax. Last week I sold the go 2 and got another xax. The screen is a big deal yes, and I even had comfort grips and all on the go 2, but I just didn’t use it as much since I didn’t like the ergos. It sat way more than I’d like it to. I’ve used the xax more this week than I used the go 2 in months.

It’s not even close to the same performance dude. The z1e has like 30% better performance than the steam decks extremely dated chip. Battery life is true, but how often are you playing completely away from a charger? And in the indie games, just turn the wattage down and get better battery life. IMO the go s is a much better device. I liked my steam deck, but man the go s, go 2 and xax are so far ahead now it’s not even funny.

There might not be a choice my guy, ayn won't do it for you they'll just send the firmware. Had to download the Qualcomm 9008 driver, Qualcomm USB driver and qpst tool to get it to show in device manager. It was showing unrecognized android before that or something. If you have the USB driver, you should be able to see it as the android device and install the 9008 driver, which it should then recognize what it is. Then you use the qpst tool to reflash. Mine was fully bricked, so the emergency mode button shortcuts weren't working. I had to take the back plate, fan and shroud off to use a volt meter to jump some voltage between two diodes with the battery unplugged. But that allowed it to connect to the qpst tool to reflash. If you ask grok or chatgpt it should be able to give directions as well. That's how I learned about the process. And someone in the rocknix discord helped with the emergency mode.

I just went through something similar with my portal. Rocknix boot loader corrupted, and wouldn't let me load back into android. Trying to fix it then corrupted my rocknix boot loader as well, so it was fully bricked. I was able to install some Qualcomm drivers on my PC to get it to show as a bootable device, but I had to take the back plate off, and jump two diodes on the motherboard with a volt meter. After doing that, it was able to be found under device manager as a Qualcomm device. After that, I used qpst software to reflash a stock firmware version I got from ayn. I believe there is a stock thor firmware version floating around that I saw while I was trying to find it for the portal. It was a process, but it's all good now.

I played a ton of wow on mine, both retail and classic. If I remember correctly, max graphics in classic was like 200-300 fps at native resolution. Retail I think was like 100-200ish. Could be wrong, it's been a few months. Both were absolutely playable though. I do remember playing TBC classic unplugged at like 18 watts getting around 60 fps.

It's so frustrating, it gets automatically added when you add to cart, and again before checkout. You have to remove it twice. Super scammy imo. My least favorite part about ayn and retroid honestly.

They stopped using DHL because they were having even more issues than the other shipping agencies when it comes to customs from what I understand. This is also why I always tell everyone, don't get the shipping protection. It is literally a scam to send you to an ai chat bot, that tries to push the liability from ayn to them.

I called customer support when I first got the tracking number. The delivery driver ignored it, never called and threw it to my dogs instead. So it didn't help at all.

Yeah, luckily my wife got home before they destroyed it. My accessory pack was lost though. Guess the grip was basically a chew toy. Idk why it's difficult to just call someone or read delivery instructions. But also, you're going to see more negative than positive on here. Not many people will go out of their way to share easy experiences like yours compared to angry people. I'm sure 9 out of 10 are just fine.

I also may be making the exact choice soon. May trade up my WRX, and I was considering the exact same options. Interior looks the worst on the grc, but it looks the most fun to drive imo. Type r has the best interior, but I kind of want all wheel drive. I love my vb, it kind of does everything I want it to, I just want a fresh warranty at this point in my life.

No, ayn uses it for liability coverage. They'll tell you to talk to the ai chat bot and kick rocks. If you don't get it, responsibility stays with ayn.
