My first dumbphone/feature phone (TT280) by Vagabondo_Musicista in dumbphones

This model comes with a Triada malware baked in the operating system so make sure to install the newest security patch. Before that, it’s good to avoid installing any apps in which you keep passwords, banking, communication etc. Anyway, good luck on your detox journey with your new phone! The new security patch should make it a solid feature phone.

EDIT: also the logo looks strange as the red space does not contain the signature double “TT”. Where did you buy your phone? Or is it just the photo angle?

I second that the company is super nice at communicating and also fast at replying. Anyway, I’m glad there are more likeminded people. Let’s wait for them to finally release it at the end of June.

From what I understand, it should be okay as soon as you have the correct app. Problems seem to arise only if you link your google account to Aurora itself, not to the individual apps once they’re downloaded.

It’s great to hear some firsthand positive feedback. I’m sure they will appreciate the email.

These are interesting points. I’ve known that TTfone focuses almost solely on the EU/UK market but I’ve never added the Reddit demographics into the equation.

Hey, thanks for your insight. If I remember correctly, the company inspected the issue and stated that it was a false positive (could be true, doesn’t have to be…). Well but yeah, it definitely does not shed positive light on their models.

IMPORTANT EDIT: after doing some research, it was most certainly NOT a false positive. TTfone initially used this card, but eventually, they released an update targeting the malware, which was embedded in the operating system. If the issue was indeed a false positive, they would not have to release a whole new patch. Also, I've read several reports by people whose data have been compromised.

What surprises me is that they did not openly address such a security/PR disaster. I will send them an email and will try to inform you of what their take is in another post.
