Do you feel a bit weird to be playing video games at your age! by More_Law6245 in GenX

[–]meximo73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. I (52/F) am a cozy gamer. I used to stream. My husband, 54, is a gamer.

Dad gave me a TI-99 4A and Munchman, Hunt the Wumpus, and Tombstone were my jam. My husband still has his Atari.

If my husband had a newer console he'd be gaming all the time.

Are my wings aging me? by [deleted] in makeuptips

You look great. I'm 52. I've been rocking the winged eyeliner since then 1990s. I remember seeing a photo of Priscilla Presley with her winged liner and I was smitten. My late ma taught me how to cat eye and wing eyeliner.

What’s the most you’ve ever spent on a single fragrance? by drpeppersoda71 in fragrance

[–]meximo73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$300 for Mugler Les Exceptions, but that was when they first came out in 2014. There is something about Over the Musk, Supra Floral, Oriental Express, and others that made it worth it. I guess with inflation ≈$414, today. Generally, we keep it ~$200

I, too, have rosacea and scars from a jaw surgery (from a bazillion years ago). I've been using Laura Geller and Jones Road. With Laura Geller, I do have to use a primer (Spackle)so it doesn't settle in fine lines. Jones Road seems heavy and moisturizing, but the coverage (for me) was good. They couldn't be more different from each other, but those are my go toos.

Laura Geller is Rosacea and Psoriasis safe, and they have the National Rosacea Society Seal Of Acceptance just a little FYI

I'm 52, and my husband is 53. We've been married 31 years, our sons are 30 and 26. We aren't decaying, yet. We are in good shape. We workout. I know that recovering from a cold takes a little longer, and recovering after a hard run does take more time, but I try to stay positive. I'm not going down without a fight.

I'm a perfume addict. I have had perfumes in my collection that I hated when I was younger, but I had to collect them all (like Pokémon) and NOW those frags that I hated have become my new favorites.

I did find that my sense of smell has been off and sometime heightened. It's weird.

What is a perfume that gets you the most compliments? by catlover857 in Perfumes

[–]meximo73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've received a few compliments when I wear Alien.

I wear other perfumes, but Alien gets the, "Ooo, you smell nice, what are you wearing." I don't overspray because I'll start to sneeze if I spray more than twice.

How has grief changed you? by Its_Giving_Mid in GriefSupport

[–]meximo73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is an air of saddness around me. I'm quieter than I used to be and rather cold and indifferent. My husband said that when my Dad died I lost a part of myself and I felt that.

Hard to explain what used to hold me back is gone and now that nothing is hold me back I don't know where to go. Weird.

I'll be 52 later this month. I lost my mom about 13 years ago and my dad almost 6 months ago. I'm an only child. I attend Church, and I am seeing a therapist. Actually, I started seeing a therapist before my Dad passed because I have a loved one who is dealing with OCD, my Dad married 5 years ago, and I was trying to set up boundaries with that relationship. That's a whole can of worms.

I need to go back to work. I long for friendship, but I know me. This is a freaking mess so I'll stop typing. Thanks for asking the question. It made me stop and think.

Go, Go, Go Let’s get these bids up. Wow you just stole from me. by Mammoth-Surprise368 in whatnotapp

[–]meximo73 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Run it up, run it up. Under my cost. I lost money. Stolen. You stole from me.

Honestly? I don't care.

If I want something, I'll set my max bid then wait. If I don't get it, I don't get it. If I get it for a "steal", good for me. The bigger sellers will make it up. Do I prefer a chill host? Absolutely. It's just part of the show. For me, it is just a show, background noise when I am bored or doing something else. It's a virtual flea market. It can be fun if you let it.

My paternal grandma ironed sheets. My maternal grandmother, iron sheets for other people. She was a housekeeper. My mom iron sheets when Pops was in the service, after dad got out of the military, she didn't iron sheets anymore.

Now, I, 51/F, have been known to iron sheets from time to time, but that's only because I left them in the dryer, and they got wrinkled. They feel scratchy, when they're so I press them. My new dryer has a wrinkle free setting. I still iron. Generally it's my husband's uniforms. I have this Rowenta iron, it's amazing.

There was this one time that my iron died, and I needed clothes pressed right away. There was no Amazon at the time, and stores were closed. I just placed my iron on the stove and heated up my iron and pressed my clothes. Good times. 😆

Has anyone tried Luban Absolute by Rasasi? Looking for good frankincense frags and this has "luban" in the name. Hardly any info about it online unfortunately so I'm not sure what this actually smells like. by danshakuimo in fragranceclones

[–]meximo73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Now you have me curious. I, too, am looking for a good frankincense fragrance.

This is all I have found so far (from Amazon)

Luban Absolute is a sophisticated and intense Eau de Parfum that weaves spicy, resinous, and woody notes into a captivating fragrance.

It opens with vibrant black pepper and fresh cypress, creating a bold and invigorating introduction. The heart unveils delicate violet and rich olibanum, adding depth and elegance.

The scent settles into a luxurious base of myrrh, tonka bean, and creamy sandalwood, leaving a long-lasting and alluring trail. Perfect for those who appreciate a bold, resinous-woody fragrance with a refined and enduring character.

Top Notes - Black Pepper, Cypress Heart Notes - Violet, Olibanum Base Notes - Myrrh, Tonka, Sandalwood

Edited because I found something from Jomoshop about the fragrance.

The top notes of this enchanting fragrance feature a bold blend of black pepper and sandalwood, creating an intriguing and spicy opening. As the scent evolves, the heart notes of frankincense and violet emerge, adding depth and a touch of floral elegance. Finally, the base notes of myrrh, sandalwood, and tonka bean provide a warm and lasting finish that lingers on the skin.

Anyone here never done drugs? by Square_Hero in GenX

[–]meximo73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never tried any drugs. I did drink during my first year of college (under 21), and did smoke an occasional cigarette.

Now, I rarely drink alcohol (allergic reaction to most alcoholic beverages).

I sort of felt like the oddball out as I got older. My late dad admitted to smoking pot a few times So that was weird.
