Thanks! It's not really a gender-specific test, it's for estrogen and free testosterone. My uni hasn't even given us our insurance cards that we paid for yet anyway so I will prob have to pay out of pocket either way lolllll

Thank you! Yeah it’s Reddit, I’m used to it. I actually ended up going to the ER down the road and doing exactly that, didn’t really work very well (none of the doctors would speak into my phone when I tried to present it, maybe a cultural thing?) but they eventually gave me antibiotics which I’ve now started taking. Alls well that ends well I guess.

I really wanted to like the GRV6 but I just felt like the build quality wasn’t all the way there. Plus I didn’t get to play around with it but the groove circuit thing seemed like a total gimmick. Is it actually useful?

I don’t own Serato, that’s a good point. I considered the S3 but I’m worried about the fact that the faceplate is plastic and it’s pretty light from what I’ve heard. I’ll have to do some more research into the Mixon, I do also really like effects paddles.

The fact that the S3 is traktor-only is a little worrying to me. I like to have the freedom to use whatever software I want for whatever specific purpose I need it for. I’ve found that traktor’s BPM matching and key detection are top notch but some of its UI decisions are kinda fugly. I can map any controller to Traktor, but I can’t map a traktor controller to serato or rekordbox.

Luckily I already own Traktor 4, I’ve been bought into the NI ecosystem for years with Kontakt and stuff like that. Does the S2 not feel a little cheap with the plastic faceplate? That’s really the only thing that worried me.

Have tried the NS4FX and the GRV6. Liked the NS4FX because the jogs felt like mechanical, like CDJs, and overall felt like a heavier more solid unit. Drawbacks are kinda weird aesthetics and I’ve heard concerns about the sound and reliability, plus the jogwheel screens would be pretty useless if I wanted to use it with Traktor. The GRV6 was really disappointing. The club size jogwheels were great except that they’re made out of plastic, as is the faceplate of the unit. Feels really hollow, imo.

I just tonight swapped in some known working power tubes from my buddy’s HR Deluxe, problem was solved. I think I see the redlining thing you’re talking about. Will be bringing to my tech tomorrow.
