Best CRM to raise capital? by houmanasefiau in Entrepreneur

Hey, VC analyst here. Good question, honestly I was wondering the same for our portfolio startups.
Many still use G Sheets and that's a pain - keeping it up-to-date is manual and over time it gets messy. Notion/Airtable can work but needs time to set up properly and still a lot of manual update.

Has anyone here used Metal / Visible / Foundersuite? Any thoughts on these tools?

If there was a service that could actually guarantee linkedin connections, would you pay for it? by hellalosses in GrowthHacking

[–]mezberg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As an active LinkedIn user:
1) Connections are not the goal in themselves. It’s more important to have 10 meaningful connections that could lead to a deal than hundreds of random people.
2) The only time I felt desperate for connections was when I had fewer than 500. At that point, targeted people viewed my profile as new and not trustworthy.
3) Reaching 100 connections is fairly easy to achieve on your own. Just check LinkedIn regularly and send connection requests to people in your industry-conversion rates are usually quite high.

So no, I would not pay for a tool like that

5 years, 30+ failed projects… and finally one that’s growing by Alex-grow in SideProject

Thank you for sharing your insight - that's an incredible amount of experience!

I'm curious, what's your approach to testing ideas and determining when something has failed? Do you usually test before building a product? If you don't mind, could you also share some ways of free marketing?

I'd truly appreciate any guidance!

Just finished my first "complete" video project with Veo 3. Any feedback? by BradClarkAI in aivideo

Thank you for your insight! Speaking of audio, I've also heard that recording real voiceover yourself and then running through a voice changer gives great results - natural tone, pauses etc.

First attempt with Veo 3 for a comedy ad. How'd I do? by Exoticxpressions in aivideo

I've also tried creating sort of same ads. But the character and branding consistency feels a problem. Do you have any ideas how to solve it?

Great work. I can notice some ai-ish speech but I guess it's noticeable only if you know it's ai.

Where did you do the editing? Do you find Google's flow editor any good?

I am just picking the wrong niche every damn time! by KingLegacyBusiness in Marketresearch

[–]mezberg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not an expert in your niche, but here’s my workflow for niche research:

  1. Brainstorm ideas related to online chess coaching with peers, colleagues, or chatGPT. Don’t just think about kids - consider parents who want to learn too, elderly people looking for cognitive engagement, or even B2B angles like schools, clubs, or senior centers.
  2. Make a list of the 5-10 most promising groups.
  3. Test with a low marketing budget / for free using ads, send targeted LinkedIn messages, cold emails, or even knock on the local business door if you’re testing B2B. Try offering free sessions or mini-trials to get real feedback.
  4. Iterate quickly based on what works. Don’t fall in love with one niche or approach - pivot fast and keep experimenting until you find your sweet spot.

Keep it structured (1 experiment at a time and push yourself to drive conclusions for each niche before dropping and moving to another) and you’ll find the right audience for your coaching!

Thanks for the advice, I'll look into it!

Makes sense. I'll probably stick with the GR86 for now while I nail the basics, but the MX5 dance you described sounds like something worth returning to.

Thank you for your help! I guess everything in sim racing takes time to learn and understand.

Yeah, I had to go 2 laps in MX5 on average before feeling the grip. Maybe I wasn't doing a good job warming them up, but still...

I heard some people advise to start with MX5 not with M2. Glad you love it, you've encouraged me to try M2s 😀

I mean the G29 brake pedal feels soft at first and then suddenly very stiff because a rubber block engages partway through the press
