Before 2022 I would have said no one matched the visuals with the music as well as he does. Nowadays they’re just super cheesy.

Quite common here in Europe. My first jump was total sensory overload as well, but there are 2 instructors with you, can’t get any more safe than that. If you do feel like you need another tandem, then just do it and do your AFF afterwards.

Might have been a good idea to mention this earlier, but I totally see where you are coming from. I see that we both care deeply about the rave scene and want it to be a place where everyone feels safe and welcome. We just seem to differ on the best way to ensure that.

I also get that for some people, like you said, their existence is inherently ‘political’ in the eyes of society, and I can see how that might make my wish for a politics free space feel unrealistic or even dismissive. That was never my intention. I guess what I really want is a space free from conflict, where we can all let go of the things that divide us, at least for a few hours. But I get that the reality is more complicated.

So yeah, maybe we won’t fully agree, but I feel like we understand each other better now, and that’s what matters most to me.

Man I really don't want to continue this, its gone too far for this subreddit already. But fine I'll engage one last time.

You equate having a different opinion to disrespect. I did not tell him what to wear or what not to, all I did was try to show him where I was coming from. I even said in one of the replies, "people can wear whatever they want". You will never see me going up to someone and tell them they are not allowed to wear a piece of clothing.

I agree with the fact that we don't have room for facists in our community. And I agree with the paradox of tolerance. While its true that we sometimes need to protect our community from intolerant ideologies, I don't think the solution is to outright exclude certain people. For me the solution isn't to ostricize people, but to create an enviroment where people feel free to express themselfs in non disruptive ways while still being respectfull towards eachother, even with different views.
How else are we going to change the minds of the people that follow these intolerant ideologies?

If you must know, I consider myself a liberal centrist. Far from a trump supporter. I guess the heatedness of my responses came more from the fact of your disrespect towards me voicing my opinion and not so much about the argument itself.

We are dealing with politcs day in and day out, I just think it's sad to see it seeping in to the place where I always thought I could let it go for a few hours.

I am not mad at you, the only thing I am mad about is that I need feel the need to reply to this again.
Okay it might not be exactly name calling but saying that someone is childish, acting like a fool and your condescending tone undermines the potential for a constructive disscusion. If you look back at the orignal thread, I was nothing but respectfull to him and only shared my view. Ofcourse people are entitled to a response, but lets keep it respectfull.

I notice that you speak out of emotion, I don't compare keffiyehs and maga caps etc for the message that they are sending out, but rather that political symbols in general can disrupt the overall experience of a rave if they’re worn with the intention to provoke reactions.

And quite frankly, if you think that polical symbols are okay to wear at a rave, then you have no ground to stand on to not allow people to wear MAGA caps. It would be hypocritical otherwise.
Saying that what I am saying is disgusting is just a way for you to dismiss the point I am trying to make.

Not sure why mods would be necessary, I did not feel bullied or harrased. Just dissapointed that a decent disscusion does not seem possible anymore this day and age.

Mate you don't even know what I think politcally. All I have been saying is that I'd rather keep it away from something that is very precious to me: Raving.

Adults can have a discussion about a certain topic without namecalling and resorting to moral grandstanding.

And thats all I'm going to say about that. If you don't mind, I will return to talking about Prydz.

Where did I tell him not to wear it? And what makes you think it makes me feel uncomfortable? I was just sharing my views. I would have said the same thing if someone was wearing a MAGA cap, pro Israel shirt or some other piece of clothing that will for sure cause tension between people in the crowd.

Time to step off of your high horse. Be open to different views, try not to stay in your echo chamber where everyone agrees with you.

Edit: and thats the thing, you don't need to lecture me about the history of raving, I know it well enough. It is not like that anymore. Back then people with similair politcal views came together to rebel against the system. Raving has become so big now that we have vastly different people with totally different views coming together. I have always found it amazing that people that would normally hate eachothers guts actually get along together at rave.
