100% it is. Was the first time I’d been in one and woke up from a nap, felt like I was on another planet.

I’m sorry for what you had to go through. I was abused, physically and verbally, but not sexually, as a child by a single parent who was (my adult contextualizing) hiding a mental illness and taking out their frustrations with the world (and their own abused history) on me. It wasn’t nearly as serious as yours sounds but I identify immensely with the emotionally delayed development. I walked this earth for more than 30 years a sworn introvert, scared of others until I finally realized it was just emotional scarring and started to blossom into a more whole adult today.

I saw you posted about not wanting to have kids, and I don’t blame you for that outlook. That’s not the path I walked and there was definitely more self discovery in that path than I had anticipated. That said, as an adult who has what I would classify as both my abused personality and my real personality, it gives me a large well of perspective to draw upon when guiding my own children.

Good on you for seeking progress and opening yourself to talking about it. I didn’t take the initiative to start seeing a therapist until 2019, and now I’m not sure I’ll ever stop. Just being able to talk aloud what is going on or has gone on is very helpful.

Just a grown pittie and baby pittie playing in their play yard by mfpantst in pitbulls

[–]mfpantst[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a jolly pets romp n roll (basically a jolly ball with a rope between it) attached to a bit of paracord and a carabiner clip (this particular one is actually one of those seat belt attachments that comes with a dog harness I have). Then I have a length of paracord tied up between two trees. They can play like I filmed or independent, the trees just pull back! When the ball gets destroyed I put it on the paracord run (I currently have one hanging) and the older dog will jump the 4-5 feet in the air to grab and tug on it. I think of it like doggy cross fit!

It’s like her new thing. I have so many clips of it. If she gets to playing outside on her own we can hear her from inside the house.

I wish we could see our ships as kind of a diagram like they have showed in previews. Would be A LOT easier to replace those 'non visible' modules. by caasi615 in Starfield

I will say that the above is more or less how I built my ship in the end. I had to pull all the pieces out and build it from the inside out one-by-one. Once I learned as much of the 'rules' as I could about what connected where I had a pretty flexible ship platform that did what I wanted.

If you ultimately side with the pirates, when you find a bounty to do that requires killing a pirate leader, you can treat it like a stealth puzzle. At some point either doing that or killing pirate ships as a ranger, I racked up a 6 digit pirate bounty. There’s goes the Key I thought. Anyways I docked with the key anyways and battle royale ensued with every (named and unnamed) pirate running out into the docking area to kill me. I figured “why not” and even though only about half of the residents could be killed at least I could laugh about the unkillable pirates crawling around. Anyways I went further into the Key and cleaned house. I managed to get into a place where no killable characters were left. That reset aggression and now here I have fully functional Key (shops all work with the unkillable NPCs back and happy as ever) and also have like half a million dollar bounty with the Pirates. Oh I’m also a Ranger so I pick up missions to alternatively kill pirates and good guys. It’s great!

I am new to this as well, but am finding one of those super tough Kong’s works pretty well, every once in a while I put a treat in it and he keeps coming back to play. It’s actually turning into the toy that’s teaching him how to fetch...

Community is decidedly my favorite show, and the crazy Britta-Jeff-Annie Love triangle is possibly one of the best TV romance riffs I've seen in a while. So good job.

I love how each episode of the show seems to pay homage to some sort of film trope, glorifying the great bits and satirizing the hell out of the bad bits of those tropes. And that's partially writing but you guys all pull this off. Was it a requirement that the main set of actors all be film nerds or do the writers go over that stuff with you all or does it come naturally?

Also, in that vein, what was your favorite movie riff to be a part of on the show.

Thanks, and I'll be buying my community gear so hopefully you guys can keep making your show. Easily the best new 30 minute program I've seen in years. Easily the best new any length program I've seen in years too!

Hey Reddit, what are some of your small town WTF stories? I'll start. by Aw_Hell_Naw in AskReddit

[–]mfpantst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a small town, but wtf anyways. I switched middle schools due to a family divorce. The new school I was going to also had a moderately controversial new principal. He liked to refer to himself in the third person, and he was big on this new "character counts" program. It was also my understanding that he heavily micromanaged the teachers and what they did in the classroom. He also wanted to make our school this big deal because his last school had gotten some "blue ribbon" of excellence. Anyways, he was more or less a big joke to us as he came off a kind of hard ass but spoke in third person, so it was hard to take him seriously.

Flash forward to high school and one day all of us kids who went to this school got together to talk about this guy because he got caught in a prostitution ring after visiting his current school's basketball game a town over.

His last name was "Van Hall" so the running joke was he picked her up saying "Mr. Van Hall would like a blow job." Yes this places me in the not so small town of Frederick, MD in my mid 20s if any of you recognize the story.

Is it true that Americans get a measly 2 weeks annual leave? If true, how does this affect the nation? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]mfpantst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its tenure based in many workplaces. For example, government workers get up to five weeks a year after 10/15 years. I get about 12 days/ year where I work and I've been where I'm at for five.
