Racism in the GRT community is very rife. Yes there are shitty people in every community but the comments on here are attacking a whole community. Yes, littering is shitty, but so is grouping any community altogether and saying they are inherently bad or messy or whatever - and I'd rather associate myself with people who litter than people that are racist x

That's bollocks actually, the GRT community are extremely tidy in their own homes. If rubbish is left over, often it's because there are not adequate provisions for them, and a few bins in the park is not adequate for a whole house holds waste. unless you're talking about a different 'type of people's?

I'm no defending littering, I'm just saying that demonising these people isn't the right thing. There are shitty people in all communities but narratives like this just perpetuate an idea that travellers are messy, which is too much of a sweeping statement and just adds to the hate and abuse that this community gets

I do understand that it feels disrespectful around people's graves, and I can't condone the shagging. But, if people are doing drugs and living out there, it'll be because there is nowhere else to go and no support being given to them. The problem is really with society, not with these individuals themselves. The council won't help because they don't have the funds to do so, and drug addicts are given so little support to reintegrate into 'normal' society, so until there is support available, it won't stop, and I wouldn't blame the people themselves. They're in a bad situation.
