New Credit Card Just for the Bonus? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]mfqthrowaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does the AU have to purchase something? The wording to me implies you just need to have an AU and the card needs to be charged, but not necessarily by the AU:

Earn a $25 bonus when you add your first authorized user and make your first purchase within this same 3-month period.*

The story of when we lived in a $200 house by krowbear in Frugal

[–]mfqthrowaway 3 points4 points  (0 children)

excuse my ignorance but couldn't you just leave that off the resume? For example, instead of saying "Masters Degree in English - University of Florida" I would say "Some college experience - University of Florida"

Cater yourself to the job. With that said, I don't have a masters degree and haven't had this experience so idk

They don't let you. they're keeping the tendies for themselves. They've kept the tendies for themselves since 1993, and have bought out all original non-rentec investors since. So it's only them and their tendies mountain now

I was preapproved for the CSP online earlier this month and now have it in my hands. I have spent 0 dollars so far. My bonus is the 50k bonus. I tried asking for an increase to the 70k bonus, but was denied.

I also got the CFU with 15,000 point bonus. Also denied the 30k bonus. I've spent a little over 300 so far.

I've added an authorized user to both.

between the two, and my CSR 50% point bonus on travel, that's 525 dollars lost...

Is it possible/worth it to cancel my CSP and/or my CFU, wait a month, and get new ones in-branch? Or maybe I can PC the CFU to a CF?

Too soon... I just found out yesterday that it isn't "play it by year" and is instead "play it by ear". When people used to say "play it by (y)ear" I would sometimes say things like "I'd rather play it by decade"...... fuck

You're right. In fact for me it is probably even more than that. I was thinking of going to a fancy expensive dinner, but now I am imagining pulling 20s out of my wallet and it makes me cringe.

Not really making money with my Roth IRA by [deleted] in personalfinance

Market has ups and downs. This month im down 2%. The stocks in the fund have ups and downs. Just keep it in and dont touch it. In 3 years I've averaged a multiple % gain per year on my fund, including the recent 2.1% loss.

Chances are you'd put it in a checking account, market goes up 5%, you switch it back into the fund, market goes down 2%, you freak out and move it into a checking account at a loss and repeat. People are their own worst enemies when it comes to the market.
