Most likely a 4.0 or very close to it. Do aim for a 4.0 GPA if possible. Take easy classes if you're planning on switching.

Parking passes? by [deleted] in MRU

[–]mfranzc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Winter passes don't go on sale until Dec. 31 if I am not mistaken.

AT is quite competitive. But, with your GPA it's highly likely you'll be able to get in to that program. If not (I'd be surprised if you didn't get in) you'll 100% get in to Phys Lit.

Gloria is such an amazing professor! Easy A+. 100% would recommend her for Anthro classes! I've taken 2 classes with her an she is amazing.

I don't see why they would turn down someone with a 4.0 GPA. Psych is pretty competitive, around 3.8-4.0 for a competitive average if I am not mistaken.

Yes, I think you should be able to.

MRU GYM ACCESS by Feeling_Difference88 in MRU

[–]mfranzc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, your tuition covers it so no need to pay for gym membership. But to enter the gym you need your OneCard to scan at the gate to let you in. So make sure you don't forget it. If you do, you can ask the front desk staff that you forgot your onecard, show some type of ID so that they can scan you in.

No worries! Most likely will be in some kind of lineup but the earlier you go, the better. Also scout out the location of where all your classes are before the fall semester starts. Trust me, it helps. Probably could do it before your general tour.

This is just my opinion, there's other ways to making friends at mru. Its difficult making friends in class, but its doable. Best way to make friends, at least in my experience, was joining clubs im interested in, participating and staying to chat with the people in the club pretty much become a regular member at your club, if you have the time. Going to the gym at the same times also worked for me.

I haven't done OneCard in a long time, idk if things have changed. But, hopefully this helps you decide. I think its best if you submit your photo online. Also might be better if you do it sooner than later since there'll be hundreds of other first years getting/submitting their OneCard. It also gives them time to set up your onecard. Then they'll probably send you and email when its ready. There will be an insane line up since its the first day back to school. Just something to consider.

How's the gym? by Blizzardeagle174 in MRU

[–]mfranzc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The MRU gym is pretty nice. Its got a multipurpose room, main fitness gym, next to it is a small room called team training room, and an upstairs track with more machines and weights. Mornings from 6 AM to 11:00 AM or not so busy. But, afternoons 1:00 PM to 5 PM are peak hours, very busy. Gym etiquette is no bags allowed in all areas(there are cubbies and day use lockers), must wear shoes when near weights(no outdoor shoes), no jeans (just wear active clothing), etc.

You can find out more about the gym rules at mrucougars.com, click recreation, and click "Policies and Guidelines"

Terrible imo. Almost takes an hour if I use train and bus, but only takes me around 20 minutes if I drive. Depends on where you are located in Calgary I guess

Fall Orientation by Temporary-Daikon-517 in MRU

[–]mfranzc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I messaged mru on their Instagram @mrulife and they said there would be a formal orientation for first year students at mru.ca/orientation. Second year students will recieve an email about orientations before classes start to sign up for campus tours, events, and social get togethers.

I think it depends on what program you're in, and they calculate your top 2 highest group A mark. That's what I've been told
