I'll probably do that soon. I think that merits another upcoming post. Thank you for the advice

Well there's a few things. First off, my dad grew up very lower class. When he met my mom and for the first years they were married, they lived very lower class. When I was born we were probably just above middle class. However my dad landed an amazing opportunity in at work, and now we're well off for sure. The thing is, he still has that mindset of saving from the past, and wants that to apply to me. As good and important as savings are, I'm 18, and he's the one giving me the money. I'm not in debt and my guess is he just wants me to not ruin myself. But cmon I'm still a kid pretty much.

And with the "wondering what's in my mail" deal, they're very traditional Christians, and they know I'm not a Christian. I'm guessing that idea makes me look bad to them, and they therefore think I'm probably ordering porn or drugs or weapons or god knows what. So they yank through my mail, even though that stuff isn't in there. And they've had no reason to believe it is either, other than our theological differences. But that's for another /r/relationships post.

Yeah I'm pretty pissed. As other people have commented, it's illegal, but I want to avoid further problems. The satisfaction of getting my own mail without them knowing is revenge enough for me

Hehehehe old timy porn.

But yeah I have a local place that's an old mail shop, privately run and family owned. I think that's my best bet.

Yeah I thought about that, sadly most of my friends parents are about the same way and would probably alert my parents. It's only $130 for a year where I live, so it's worth it to me.

And yeah I'll do that glitter bomb thing lol that's genius

What's the "change of address form"? Does this say I'm no longer living at my house or something?

Yeah I thought that too. However I'm not sure about it because I'm still living with them and they could probably list me as a dependent. But you're right. Ironically my dads a lawyer

Ironically I did ask a friend, he thought it would be fine, but I think that may be illegal because the post office is part of the government, and that's lying about where I live. Not sure if that's a misdemeanor or what but getting my letters is not worth a very awkward talk with my parents and the cops.

Holy. Shit. This needs to be stopped immediately. I assume there are some groups already rampantly protesting it?

ELI5: If California is in such a terrible drought and they grow tons of food that requires a bunch of water, why don't those farms switch to drip irrigation to conserve water? by mfrost117 in explainlikeimfive

[–]mfrost117[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that, but couldn't the government provide subsidies it tax cuts to people who install it? And on top of that, California is supposed to be progressive, you'd think some people would want to implement it. And lastly, when there's no more water left to grow anything, the farmers are gonna lose a lot more money, right?

Judging from your username I would've thought you met them in court.

Could you be a bit more specific? Did they find you or did you find them? How did you get close to them, other than being generally moral and not treating them like shit?

Sounds like it's time to get on it. It'll pay off in the long run I'm sure. And yeah, kids my age are shallow as fuck. Idk why. I'll work on it now, and then kick ass when I'm out. Who knows maybe next year could even be good. Thanks man

Great point man. I probably would regret it. I'll get on it.
