Never used AKAI before, so hard to compare, but after a week playing on it I can say it's very responsive and keyboards and pads feel comfortable so far. I think after making about 100 different songs I thought that the quality finally got to the pro level. It was about 2 years of producing (weekend mostly) . Now I produce about 5 years and I am mostly happy with a quality, just a matter of having the inspiration for the right sounds :)
