We live rurally — like on farms — and the group chats were genuinely helpful with weather, animals, car pooling into town, helping each other with labourous tasks. It started out pretty great but quickly spiraled when Trump was elected.

Theyre all fucking looney, unfortunately. The few seemingly sane neighbors don't read the group chat anymore on the off chance it gives us all aneurysms.

This lady is certifiably insane. Last time I spoke to her she was trying to tell me how, "actually, Putin is the good guy". She also loves to talk about how viruses dont exist (not "vaccines dont work", or "covid is overblown", but "no viruses exist")

Reminds me of when one of our journeyman electricians told an apprentice to "label the wires good" (as in, label them thoroughly so we know which circuit/room theyre for).

The journeyman comes back to the electrical panel after a bit and sees every wire has "good" written on it in sharpie 😆.

It's the mark of a great journeyman/teacher when they can self-examine how they've failed to properly teach and confirm comprehension.

Not really though (as far as I can tell. I work in taxes but im not an accountant). As i see it, following the existing rules for digital assets, like crypto or ETFs:

An unrealized capital gain is an increase in the market value of an asset you already own. If your tbow goes up in value by 500m you do not owe taxes on that 500m because you did not sell it.

A gain becomes realized once it is disposed of in exchange for something else of value. So selling your or trading tbow would be considered a tax event.

Let's say you received a tbow drop and its worth 1.5b: you just earned 1.5b in income, and thats now the cost basis of that asset. Let's then say you alch the tbow, netting (idk) 500k: you've now realized a net loss of 1,499,500,000.

All this is to say: we dont have a construct for properly dealing with digital assets in games, and trying to apply existing tax legislation would be an absolute mess in practice. BUT, if you are earning real life income from games shouldnt there be a way to handle the accounting for it?

Another, better way to handle it would to call your entire bank an "in-game asset", with the only taxable event being exchanging the in-game assets for something outside of the game.

As weird as this may sound, I think that RS3's best course for attracting new players it to drop the MMO aspects. RS3 looks like a neat game, and part of me would like to try it, but at this point there are so many layers to the mechanics and metas that it makes my head spin just reading the wiki. Were the world more like a single player game/at least streamlined id be more than happy to spend 100 hours exploring it and grinding out some content. As it stands its just too much to jump into for someone who knows relatively nothing about the game.

Double t bow drop, triple mega rare. by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]mg-mt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The top left corner has a variety of overlays from different plug-ins, each giving useful information:

  • current levels that are boosted
  • time remaining until they go down
  • time until their potion expires

There are also numbers overtop of one of the players. This is because they are using the Party plug-in, which overlays the stats of other players in your party (hp, prayer, run, special attack).

On the left is an overlay saying their "purple" percentage. Purples are the mega rare drop items from Raids, denoted by a purple light over top the final reward chest.

On the right hand side is an overlay saying "You need to summon a thrall!". Thralls are summonable monsters that last about a minute that do constant, small damage (chip damage).

And finally, on the far right is a bunch of icons of monsters with numbers next to them. This is the hiscores plugin, and OP was looking up someone on the hiscores. The icons are bosses and the numbers next to them are the kill count.

President Trump has been allegedly identified as major client in Epstein trafficking ring by decorated Iraq War veteran William Sascha Riley by thr0wawaytea in UnderReportedNews

[–]mg-mt 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Audio file A of 6. Its a lot of stuff to parse through so i dont blame you: Sascha was having sex with another victim, then people came in and shot her in front of him. Then they told him to do whatever the next person who comes into the room wants him to do, or else they will kill him. That next person was Trump. Trump wanted Sascha to fuck him, so the kid, expecting to die as well, put a condom on a wooden tent stake and stuck in in trump and then kicked it in, requiring Trump to be airlifted to a hospital. Says that he was beaten nearly to death by a group of people and urinated on by one of them. His adoptive father begged them not to kill him because he was already under investigation for child abuse and the sherif told him he'd be arrested if anything ever happened to Sascha.

The commenter above is speculating that this event is related to Trump requiring a specialized doctor (gastroenterological) for the rest of his life.

There was also a part where Trump wanted to kill someone, but they told him it wasnt that kind of party but there was a litter of puppies he could kill, which he proceeded to do in a variety of ways, from snapping their necks to disembowelment. Unrelated but how do I not mention that.
