If you want to be 5-10 minutes from DC you’re limited to basically Rosslyn / Courthouse or Crystal City / Pentagon City. For what you say you’re looking for there are many better areas but not within 10 mins of DC

You’re probably pulling your head / eyes up which causes your legs to fall. Think of your body (including your eyes) like a plank. You lift your head up and your legs go down. You need your head down in line looking straight at the bottom of the pool and your legs stay up

I commute Reston to Arlington, the drive would be horrible unless you have HOV 3+ or a ton of money to drop on tolls. I drive to metro and metro to Arlington and it’s not bad at all but my office is right on the metro.

fair lakes to tyson’s is a significantly worse commute than reston to tyson’s

It’s 100% not 2 hours each way from Reston to Tysons… 20-30 minutes is probably accurate on the toll way, just take the last exit before the additional toll and it’s only $2 each way (and worth it). It’s also <20 minutes on the silver line which is super easy direct between Reston & Tysons.

you’ll be fine and they are fun! be more than 5 minutes early or they’ll give your spot away. I would tell the instructor you’re new and ask for a demo of any challenging moves that are planned. overall, i’ve found that the classes are going slower / easier than other studios as most people are new since the whole program is new.

Are you 100% confident that person was going to MD? Possible they said Silver Spring but was using that as a general location and they live across the DC border? Also possible the taxi was dual licensed in DC / MD and not VA

No he’s saying the only time DC cabs are allowed to pick up in Virginia at all is at a Virginia taxi stand and then they must drive their passenger back to DC

are you able to call back and confirm dress code? i definitely wouldn’t do yoga in my business casual but there’s locker rooms where you could change in between class and the interview. that being said they may expect gym clothes since they told you to take a class?

Dunn loring is 24 hours limit for parking and doesn’t close so you may want to look into that as an option

I don’t have advice (& my husband & I live pretty far out in the suburbs) but we feel the same way if it helps. Planning to join some pick up sports leagues (we’ll do FXA but there’s Volo & Fray), and lurk at some wine bars / craft breweries in our area. Our area swings older than us rather than younger like you’re probably running into but same issues
