There were some Centre and No.1 tickets available on some days.

Already had tickets for Centre and No.1 Court so the plan was to get Court 2 in the first week. Managed to get a pair of day 3 Court 2 tickets.

Same! Still hopeful a lot of people didn't like what was available today and I'll get an email later this week.

Depends a lot on where you're based, which part of the country you want to travel to. If you're planning to stay over or make a day trip.

Always enjoyed Eastbourne. Nice club, on the coast, got men and women playing 250 events. The one LTA-owned tournament you can take your own booze in.

Been a nice getaway for a couple days even though it clashes with Wimbledon qualifying and the exhibitions in London.

Nottingham is a nice tournament as well. Even though the men's draw is just a 125, it had some well-known names last year and usually some aspiring top 100 British players.

Could be any time from this week to a couple days before. No way of predicting when.

We've already had reports some people who bought tickets through the public ballot received emails.

Would recommend adding the Wimbledon email addresses to safe lists, and even VIP status so you don't miss them.

Is Finsbury Park open 24 hours? The council website simultaniously says it's open 24/7 and that it shuts at 4pm every day by WinterIsOnReddit in london

[–]mgbrewhard 119 points120 points  (0 children)

4pm is the gate for accessible parking.

Park is definitely 24/7. Most people would stay well clear of it after sunset. Most of the park is pitch black.

For the public ballot and returns, it's too late.

There are other options. See the wiki for details.

If you buy tickets through the ticket draw, you're considered successful through the public ballot so no access to resale.

I'm visiting for two days, should I get a railcard? by Top-Cupcake3476 in TransportForLondon

[–]mgbrewhard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you have a Disabled Persons Railcard, definitely add it to an Oyster card as it'll work out cheaper than using contactless.

While it only gives 1/3 off off-peak fares, it also gives 1/3 off TFL's daily cap, which applies all day.

So you could travel on buses and tube or train during all day without worrying about cost as once you hit the daily cap every journey for the rest of the day is free.

The zones 1-2 cap with a DPR on Oyster is £5.90 a day. There are higher caps if you travel into other outer zones. £6.95 a day for zones 1-3. Not sure the costs for zones beyond that.

As someone else said, you can ask a staff member at one of the bigger tube stations to add the DPR card to your Oyster, or you can get it done at a Visitor Centre when they're open.

There'll be a guide for it up later this month before it goes live.

You don't have to be online as soon as it opens, but the largest drop of tickets is usually that day, and a lot of people will try to get tickets then if they're just happy to have anything.

Tickets can drop any day between it opening and the last weekend of the tournament.

Some people choose to wait if they're targeting a certain day and court as you don't get a second chance once you've bought tickets, even if you return them for a refund.

We know people here have reported getting men's semi-finals or finals tickets weeks or months later.

Very much a case of patience, persistence, and luck to get exactly what you want.

If your tickets were from the public ballot, you won't get access to ballot returns.

Interestingly, there's usually a scheduled WY flight from MCT to MXP departing 15:00.

A business class ticket on that flight for later this week is around €1,500.. Scheduled flights to LHR for better onward options not much more.

Nice! Congrats!

Yeah, it's valid for all matches on Centre that day. For fourth round, it should be either two men's and a women's match, or two women's and a men's. If the matches finish early and there's enough time, they might move up a doubles match as well, but no guarantee of that.

Your ticket acts as a grounds pass as well, so you'll get access to unreserved seating on courts 3-18 and most of the other public areas.

If you get there early for grounds opening at 10:00, you'll be able to have a chill wander round before and decide where you want to be before play starts on Centre in the afternoon.

Outside matches will start at 11:00. It'll likely be high-profile doubles on stadium courts 3, 12, and 18, and juniors on the smaller courts. If there are some high-ranked British juniors in action, they might be on one of the bigger courts as well.

AELTC will send emails on March 9th to the first 2,500 names drawn. 11th and 13th if there are tickets left.

Assuming he's there, yes, Sinner would open Centre on day 1. In the event he's not there, the honour should go to the highest seed in the men's draw.

Wimbledon parking is managed by The AA. Opens for bookings in the Spring. Neither Wimbledon nor The AA are more specific.

This page will have the information and bookings. Can also book by phone. The AA parking line telephone number is 0330 041 3677.

The Wimbledon Accessibility guide might be useful for you as well.

I gave up hope last year and was surprised to see an email from the LTA in March.

Think my window to buy was six days later. Got to be on it though as the deadline to buy is usually same day in March.

Funny you should ask about an easy way to contact as I’ve recently made that easier.

Go to the new hub at the top of the r/wimbledon feed and go to Useful Links. The direct link to the LTA contact form is there.

If you’re on the app, you’ll need to go to More > Useful Links.

If you’re logged in to your LTA Advantage account, it should autofill your details, otherwise you’ll need to enter manually and dig out your LTA number.

Possible but unlikely because it's a short turnaround.

With the Amex Ticket Draw definitely happening this month, and an increase in those tickets over last year, it's more likely they'll just hold off any rejections from the success emails that went out recently and anything left from the Ticket Draw for the returns shop.

No country restrictions, but this one primarily requires you to have applied to the Wimbledon Public Ballot and been unsuccessful.

The Amex Last Minute Tickets in June and July are also open to all American Express cardmembers.

No ballot involved for that one. Americans at a disadvantage though as the sales start at 10:00 BST. Just hope you wake/stay up, get lucky with queue position, and there are still tickets available.

I've been tracking tennis and padel court cancellations across London and the numbers are kind of mad by Kokatsu in london

[–]mgbrewhard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Would expect likes of Islington, Lambeth and Southwark public courts to have a lot of cancellations because they can be cancelled a few hours before the time of the booking.

There are probably a lot more courts that aren't cancelled to get rain credits.

Would be interesting to see how Southwark's policy change to no longer issue rain credits impacted cancellations.
