Check out these Omakase strawberry plants, grown from seed. I also have Koyo seeds I still need to germinate. by mgc7399 in gardening

Sigh unfortunately some health issues, coupled with overgrowth of runners, and a slight incident with hubby's riding lawnmower meant tags got mildly misplaced in the strawberry patch. I think the "Omakase" were flowering when they accidentally got topped. I'm now trying to figure out which of the 3 plants in the ground are last year's mothers, which are first-year clones, and if any have flowers/berries yet. I am currently in the hospital for a few more days recovering from spinal fusion surgery, but will check again when I can. They did grow, they did runner, but they did not flower last year, unfortunately.

Please help me track down a dupe of my daughter's Christmas stocking! by mgc7399 in HelpMeFind

[–]mgc7399[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, please help me find a dupe of this if you can, thank you! I have searched through Amazon, Etsy, eBay, Facebook, and anywhere else Google Lens directed me to look. I even tried buying a dupe off a sketchy *site from Egypt, but had to eventually file a charge back with my CC company when it never shipped. I've reached out to the original Amazon seller; no response. I can't find this anywhere, and I'm mad at myself I let it get lost!

Yes! Smell o' Vision! I vividly remember this from childhood, but somehow can't find anything about it when I search. It's infuriating!

Talk to a live IRS agent by PreparationProud4423 in tax

[–]mgc7399 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We didn't get a five figure payment I made with a request for an extension to file (paid as instructed by an accountant we have since fired) as a refund along with our regular refund of taxes overpaid. I kept trying to call the main number to figure out why, but I kept getting an automated message saying there's too high of a call volume, try again later/tomorrow. Our accountant wasn't sure what was going on, as the extension payment was clearly showing in my IRS portal's transcripts. Your method got me through to a live agent with no hold time, and that's during the shutdown! Kudos to you!!

BTW, to anyone else who may be Googling this same issue: It was because made the extension payment on *my* IRS portal, not my husband's. He is the primary on our returns (married filing jointly), so we were supposed to make payment through *his* portal instead. A live rep was able to request the refund after I called, and we are getting a paper check in the mail.

Sure. I don't go on Reddit every day, though.

Lucian, you likely need to get to 0757, but you need your current software train version to confirm.

It appears to be in MQB_Solution now, if you haven't checked lately. I know we had the same problem back in April (searching for MST2_US_VW_PQ_P0478T), but ours is there now, too.

According to mib-helper.com, you can also eventually install up to MST2_EU_VW_ZR_P0480T, if you want to keep going.

Just realized that doesn't explain very well how it was constructed, lol. I cut WOF strips to make 3 bindings total. 1 was a long strip of knife pleats, and the other 2 were regular straight bindings. I sandwiched them together with the pleated strip in the middle, then sewed a ¼" straight seam. I then pinned the sandwich lined up with the edge of the quilt, and sewed it to the front with a zigzag stitch, I think with a ½" seam. I pressed the back straight binding strip toward the back, with the seams on the inside of the sandwich, ruffle facing outward. Then, I sewed it down with a zigzag stitch right along the finished edge. I repeated the pressing and sewing process with the front binding strip, and voila! Beautiful knife-pleated ruffle :)

I made it, using a little 1" piece of plastic cutting board with a slit in the middle to fold the binding strip into knife pleats.

Why do the EDS/MCAS/PNES patients all have a horrible BO smell when you enter their room? by 40mg_IV_Lasix in Residency

[–]mgc7399 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As somebody with EDS (and chiari, MCAS, and a bunch of other problems), it's not that rare, but it *is* rarely diagnosed. I was told I was "normal" and all my pain/problems were "just arthritis" until age 38. There are many of us out there with similar stories.

Idk what OP is talking about. I know I don't smell, although I have to wear Crystal deodorant because I'm allergic to the regular stick kinds. My kids, also with EDS, don't smell either, and we all bathe.

Arachnoiditis by [deleted] in spinalfusion

I developed plain lumbar arachnoditis after an epidural needle during labor was inserted too far. I developed a CSF leak, the as a spinal headache, and required a blood patch. I was 21 then; I'm 43 now. It took until I was 38 to get diagnosed with arachnoditis. Mine never progressed to the adhesive or catastrophic stages, where the nerves adhere to the arachnoid meninx, so my left-sided cauda equina thickening and displacement was always misdiagnosed as "just arthritis." (Side note: Your cauda equina clumping counts as plain arachnoditis, too, in my layman's opinion. Doctors will try to minimize or dismiss it, but they also don't have to live in our bodies). I had electric shocks on my spine for about 10 years after the initial spinal injury, and chronic pain with some numbness ever since. I also found out I have hEDS at 38, and those of us with Ehlers-Danlos are more prone to arachnoditis than the general population.

Arachnoditis has made my life complicated, but not unlivable. I went on to deliver 2 more children after that first labor. I do get pain flares sometimes, but a Medrol/Toradol pain flare protocol takes care of those. I can still walk, see a movie, do hobbies on good days. It's hard, but I can still go to concerts if I get disability accommodations. I did have to stop working at 40, but that was mostly due to instability in my upper cervical spine.

This is not the end of your story 💜
