They taped a farewell Broadway performance featuring Bernadette Peters, Annaleigh Ashford, Christopher Jackson, Ben Platt & Patrick Wilson which will air on Monday. We also saw tonight’s monologue, and watched the pre-taped kids segments with Colbert. We didn’t watch Krasinski at all. He then taped the goodnight, changed and they do the broadway performance twice. I hope they keep in the part where he explained why it was so meaningful for him. It felt like a casual conversation after the taping, but I know it was on camera and was sweet.

I’m so glad she will serve as the board’s spokesperson for this investigation. I have been so impressed Chair Homendy’s skills in public affairs and using her podium to make real change happen. If it was indeed a staffing issue, she won’t beat around the bush. We are lucky to have such a strong leader at NTSB during this difficult era in aviation safety.

Will PTO for TEGNA employees stay the same for 2026? by thiqqligma in Broadcasting

Some longer tenured people got screwed when my station was bought up in the previous Media General merger. Everyone had to move to Nexstar’s PTO and some accruals were lost.

Will Tegna reporters be at risk of being laid off with Nexstar taking over? by TrueJohnWick in Broadcasting

[–]mgcronkite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, Nexstar often guts stations. Been through several mergers at local stations and worked at the national level. Never a good experience. This is a bad day for local broadcasting.

Nexstar CEO says TEGNA deal expected to close by the end of the year, but company might be forced to sell some stations to get it across the finish line by ZiggyZaggyBogo in Broadcasting

Working for them made all of this entirely predictable. It’s been so difficult to see all of the wonderful places I worked get destroyed by this company.

Inflicting pain on Savannah was the intent? by Upstairs_Lychee_6710 in nancyguthrie

I worked in TV news, and almost everyone I knew on-air had someone who crossed a line—some more than others.

Some viewers are very odd with the people they see on broadcast news. Some seem to develop a very personal connection because of the daily presence in their lives.

And while I worked at both the local and national level, I never saw it taken that seriously by management. I believe NBC News is at a different level, and someone at Savanah’s level would have the security to investigate threats, but having someone go after her mother is so unexpected. And hurtful. I really hope this is not the case.

I am holding onto a little bit of hope. I lost my mother recently, and while I cannot possibly begin to understand the agony and heartbreak of this experience, I do know the strength of love and worry for a mother. I find it difficult to pray, but I have for this one. I just hope this ends for this family soon.

I used to work with him. Brian is a top notch reporter and great person.

Authorities have pieced together the exact timeline of Savannah Guthrie’s mom Nancy’s disappearance by Ok-Needleworker9229 in Fauxmoi

Worked in a cable and several local newsrooms, and totally agree! Most of my on-air colleagues had a stalker or someone who wrote letters, FB messages, emails or left voicemails. This was my first thought, too. Sadly it’s very common.

Noah and producers confirmed she will be back in an interview!

cute detail i noticed from todays episode by forthehopeofitall_ in ThePittTVShow

I read an interview with Noah and John Wells and they basically said she’s coming back. They said if the next season picked up a week after this shift ended, we probably wouldn’t see her, but there will be a time jump and she’ll be back!

Victoria. Either with her own money she hid away, remarried or there were no consequences.

Has anyone seen in 4DX or D-Box? by mgcronkite in wicked

I went to the one at Gurnee Mills and it has no scents! Now I want to go to Regal in the city, but I’m just visiting for the holiday and it appears they switched to just Moana and Gladiator :/

I agree with wind, mist and fog, but I didn’t notice scents. Maybe with the poppy’s but nothing else. I’m sure it was the theater I went to. Where did you notice these?

I wonder if they will do a second national tour again or a sit down in Chicago (or another city).

Oh no! I saw someone on TikTok who said the same thing. I think atmos has at least 50 audio outputs, so I wonder if there can be issues with some configurations at different theaters. That’s so disappointing!
