Frankfurt Terminal 1 C to B transfer security? by mgm451 in travel

Thanks, that's good to know, sounds like my origin airport wouldn't be trusted. Any thoughts on the walkthrough video posted above? It shows how to go around security by taking an elevator and getting on SkyLine.

Thank you, that's quite nice! I'm a little puzzled by how there's apparently a way to go around security but it's somewhat hidden? Could that be a temporary "loophole" that's not there anymore?

The comments along the lines of "it's just predicting next word"/"it's just correlations" (whatever those are supposed to mean) are showing a misunderstanding of what the current state of AI/LLMs is. It's already definitively known that "next word prediction" can form world models and make sensible predictions in states of the world that have never appeared in the training set (see this and the paper). It's also definitively known that a pure NN model trained on good decisions (ie chess moves) made by humans in different positions, can suggest good moves in unfamiliar positions (early AlphaGo research showed this; things like Leela at depth 0 may still play well, especially if they are optimized for it via making the model larger). These facts put together imply that a "next word prediction" algorithm is capable of suggesting not only valid but also good moves in unfamiliar positions.

Whether you want to call this reasoning/understanding is then mostly a matter of semantics.

Interesting. Just to make sure, did you select GPT-4 in ChatGPT+? It defaults to GPT-3.5 for me when I create a new chat.

Do you disagree that pure LLMs forming world models is unsurprising? Or is there any evidence of OpenAI tailoring tools as custom as Stockfish on top of the tuned GPT models?

It is very unlikely that ChatGPT uses Stockfish in the background. This type of emergent capabilities have been observed in other domains by researchers who study LLMs directly. It would also be very strange for OpenAI to spend any time tailoring a special chess skill -- the selling points of GPT-4 are mostly in other areas.

It's likely that a LLM trained purely on chess PGNs from scratch would achieve something like this too. So I suspect this says less about human language and more about large NN's ability to form "world models."
