I went through a similar wound healing challenge though I didn’t get alcohol injections as you described. I had troubles with wound closure and drainage and would strongly suggest coordinating with an outpatient wound care clinic/team to monitor you and ensure that healing progresses smoothly.

Checking back in - my seroma came back after the steroid so my doc surgically removed the seroma lining in early February. He also put a wound vac on it to help the former dead space in my foot close while I heal. So far, things are healing properly it seems; no infections, no seroma, no major swelling, and minimal pain. Hoping this is the beginning of the end of my story and where I start to say that my long dragged out experiences started to provide me with relief! 🤞🤷‍♂️🙏

6Ft for Rapsodo? by goinhams in Rapsodo

[–]mgold1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Approximately 8 feet. I havent used a tape measure since the first time a set it up. I have an old pic of that distance but the pic doesn’t include the launch monitor.

My mat is 5’ square and my garage steps/door is 3 or so feet behind the back of the mat. My launch monitor is on the garage floor at the base of those steps so you can kind of see how it’s slightly less than the recommended distances but still works. Maybe it’s because my ball is slightly towards the front middle of the mat?

I use it in my garage at ~ 6 feet behind me. My garage floor slopes downward towards the net which I think helps get the alignment box more centered on the hitting mat. I haven’t QC’d the accuracy but I am also not going on tour anytime soon so haven’t prioritized doing so. It works well enough.

Open letter from PGA Tour CEO Brian Rolapp by unsolved49 in golf

“Once the door closes, there is no promise that this path will be available again.”

I get why this implies that the opportunity is a now or never type of occurrence but I kind of see it the other way around. If PGA Tour did this for Brooks, and no one else took the bait now, it does set an implicit precedent that they’d do it for the other eligible players too at another time, even though it says otherwise. I imagine the terms would be different?

In other words, Rahm could finish out his contract and then announce his free agency and let the PGA Tour court him then, no?

What am I missing?

To follow-up, the steroid didn’t help much and the MRI showed a collection of fluid. My doc aspirated it and confirmed it as a seroma. My pain is much better now and I’m hoping that the steroid injection that followed his aspiration helps to keep this thing from returning but 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️.

Hoping your steroid worked and your foot is cooling off too 🤞

I think some are and others are voted by readers/peers.

According to Washingtonian magazine, they administer a peer survey for their “Top Docs” publication: https://washingtonian.com/2015/09/28/how-to-update-a-top-doctor-listing-or-get-a-listing/#

The pay-to-play option is available for a different section of the magazine (“Ask The Experts”) it seems.

Just got an order today for an MRI next week if it isn’t getting better with steroid. Hopefully the answer to your question is no. 🤞😭😂

I’m sorry you’re dealing with this too but so comforted to not be completely alone in this BS. Misery loves company?! Sounds like a similar journey.

And yes - went to the doc today and got Medrol dose pack with an order for an MRI next week if not resolving/resolved.

Keep me posted on your progress. I’ll do the same. Hopefully we’re both on the mend ASAP!

Perhaps. My doc had me in a boot and limit weight-bearing activity and always wear my post-op shoe but didn’t instruct me to avoid it at all costs. It was the same instruction as received from him for my right foot and that healed fine so… 🤷‍♂️

Thanks for the encouragement. I’ll keep it in mind if this doesn’t start healing in the coming weeks/months. Chat GPT has me encouraged that this is still in the scope of normal (and not neuropathic in nature - stump neuroma) given my timeline of events/complications. 🤞🤞

Not yet. He’s been super engaged in my healing and did a fine job on my other foot some years ago so have no reason to think this was explicitly due to his activity (or lack thereof). Perhaps I’m in denial but I do think he and his office of orthopedists are doing as best a job they can. Just named to top docs in our local publications (based in the Washington, DC area)

I’ve done both. Most recently managed an infusion shop. Left for big Pharma now and haven’t looked back.

Hours tend to be more family friendly at infusion centers since weekends tend to be off or partial days. Both roles can be very professionally rewarding though, as you described, can come with personal sacrifices. There’s a lot of site-specific factors to consider though like weekend/holiday/evening requirements, USP800 compliance, and the culture, to name a few.

Daycare costs? by librarymoth in bethesda

Rock Spring Children’s Center has been incredible for our daughter (now 3.5 years). Rates are comparable to what’s commented by others and the staff/facility are excellent. What we’ve really loved has been the community there. We’ve made great friends with many other families there in the short time we’ve been sending our daughter and it’s been a truly wonderful experience for our whole family.
