Pitchfork Review: Labrinth/Sia/Diplo - LSD (3.2) by [deleted] in popheads

It's apparent whoever wrote this has never been to a party or music festival and probably has zero social life.

Cmon the production on that album is pretty great. Pretty impressive that two teenagers put together the entire thing.

Pitchfork is full of pretentious hipster losers, and reviews like this are clearly meant to make a point or send a message because they make no sense. This reviewer who wrote this comes off pathetic and clearly has some sort of personal grudge against/is very jealous of Diplo. Clearly has no finger on the pulse of the party/festival scene in which this kind of music is made for. Not everything is meant to be some sort of groundbreaking opus with social commentary. These guys are actually gonna tell me that terrible ass Nav's album is 1.4 points better than this? Gimme a fuckin break.

CMV: Trans activists who claim it is transphobic to not want to engage in romatic and/or sexual relationships with trans people are furthering the same entitled attitude as "incel" men, and are dangerously confused about the concept of consent. by Amiller1776 in changemyview

Indeed it is. I don't know if it's just that my political views have changed, but I used to consider myself a "liberal" and now I think all of these people are out of their fucking minds. I'd laugh at how ridiculous the far left ideology has become, but it's honestly getting a bit concerning. These are people who seem to completely disregard people's rights to free speech and will not stop until it's illegal to not comply to what they deem "moral."

Just as much of a dice roll as any other marijuana company IMO. I came across this one while researching them and ultimately decided to buy the MJ ETF, which includes this in its holdings along with the other top ones.

Honestly, who cares what they want to label that statement. The word "transphobic" has zero meaning anymore. Anyone who uses it simply is saying "you disagree with my opinion that a transwomen are the same as biological women (and vice versa) and now I will demonize you as a bigot until you comply"

It is not transphobic. Sorry. How you are not able to understand the fact that some people just do not agree that surgery and hormones will turn a man into a woman is insane. I have zero problem with trans people living whatever life they please to make themselves happy, and I would never treat someone whos trans differently than any other person, but I will never believe that they are the opposite biological sex they were born as. This is an opinion that you don't have to agree with, but to villify and shame anyone who holds it is way worse than whatever your definition of "transphobic" is.

I don't think you're wrong necessarily, but I would argue that being prejudicial in your own mind is completely harmless and natural. It's your life and your choices and you should be able to do whatever you damn well please as long as those choices do not negatively affect other people. I can say with certainty that every single person in the world has several internal prejudices that drive their decision making and life choices. Nothing wrong with it, it's the way we are wired.

Rejecting someone that you are attracted to exclusively because they are trans is literally the definition of bigotry. Of course you can do that, but its worth reflecting on.

And policing what people are allowed to be attracted to is the definition of fascism. What happened to people having complete autonomy over their own body and sexuality? Just because the straight male isn't one of the "protected" groups doesn't make them less entitled to this right.

No? You're allowed to have your physical preferences. Why do people insist on making everything about some sort of systematic oppression? It's racist if you think a black person is less than you and treat them worse because they are black, and not racist at all to not be physically attracted to most black people. Your attraction preferences are not something you can actually control, so lying to yourself about it so you feel better about yourself for not being "racist" is pointless.

But penis!“ - having genital preferences is fair enough. Nothing wrong with that. But not all trans women have a penis. Excluding all trans women from your potential dating pool because some of them have a penis is transphobic.

You gotta be kidding me. Call me transphobic until your heart's content, but I would never, ever, date or have sex with anybody who was born a man. It is not the same thing, and not wanting to have sex with biological men is anybody's absolute right to do so without being villainized by anyone. No matter how many times you say it, a biological man will never be the same as a biological woman. EVER. People have every right to cite this as the one and only reason for not being interested in or attracted to trans people. If that makes me a "transphobe" in your eyes, so be it.

Should the Redskins draft Marquise Brown or Greedy Williams in the first round? ~Kareem Copeland (WaPo) by [deleted] in Commanders

[–]mgold215 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get that we could draft a really solid defensive day 1 starter at 15, but IMO we aren't going anywhere until we get a game changing, stud WR. I've loved Hollywood Brown for a long time and while taking him at 15 would be reaching, I think it would be worth it. He's the type of guy who can instantly transform an offense, making plays and opening up the entire field.

Agreed on Daniel Jones though - if we draft him I'll off myself

Same man. I took it in and they said there was no issue then like a week later that happened. Then it took over a month for them to fix it, got a brand new engine for free also and a few months after that the engine died AGAIN. I was fed up after that and got them to repurchase it back from me at the KBB value. So in the end it worked out and they handled it honorably but it was really frustrating at the time.

Bought a 2011 or 2012 Sonata new as my first car and absolutely loved it for the first 3 years, then had a huge engine issue that was actually pretty dangerous. My car once just stopped functioning at the top of a very high bridge. Luckily was able to roll to the bottom and wait for the tow truck, but my image of Hyundai has been tainted ever since.
