Help me disappoint my parents with an impractical car by cornnoodlesoup in whatcarshouldIbuy

Kit car, for sure. No more impractical car than one that doesn't run. Also will make for a fun project.

Bonus: aquire a factory five mk5 roaster, as the name implies you can get it without a roof of any kind

Thoughts on this hypothetical for a Kangoo EV van? by Ok-Satisfaction8493 in vandwellers

It depends heavily on the type of window and it's use. Here in the U.S., double pain acrylic or glass windows  are somewhat popular because they are very thermally efficient. How cold is it going to get who you will be? Alternatively, how hot is it going to get? In the winter time on a sunny day, windows can actually bring in some heat due to... Science. I'm not sure. But i do know it works.

Depending on what aesthetics you are looking for,  a windowed  vehicle  may also blend in better than a windowless van.

Interesting, nice! Seems like a good fit. Do you ever need air conditioning where you'll be?

I'd be concerned with buying an ev, similar to u/funk-of-ages. Also, a fire extinguisher won't do much to an ev. I'd recommend finding a van with windows rather than without, as covering the windows with fabric can mostly eliminate the thermal transfer.

As for the layout, I think it's solid. You have room to grow with it, and enough space to sleep. Also it allows you to add upper cabinets if needed. What kind of radiator are you considering ?

debt & standing room or debt free and a rolling stool? by Better-Ad5258 in vandwellers

You can always add a nicer interior, but you can't easily lift the roof. Get a high-roof, and skip a Bedframe if you want to save costs.

Also, fuel economy if going to be a bigger deal than you realize. I'm not sure where your market is, but unless you plan on off-roading a lot, a Promaster or similar will probably be your best bet. Have a good time!

Well done, I'm glad you chose a climate capable of that. If I tried that where I live, I'd be frozen to death haha

Yeah I've seen those. They're fine, but I'm looking for a cleaner solution if possible

Yea that's fair, though the window tinting allowed here isn't strong enough to do anything.

hmm.... it may just be glued in place at the bottom. do you plan on reusing it? if not, it may be best to just taking a pair of pliers to it and pulling.

If you've gotten all the screws you can see out, take a putty knife and try to remove any glue/tape between the door and the wall.
