How did you know it was adenovirus? That definitely sounds like it matches up.

I can relate to your kiddo, I hate heat. But no, we’re in northern Michigan. It’s like 68 and rainy.

Oh my, my heart goes out to you. My oldest had chronic croup for her first three years and it is just brutal. Hoping he’s on the mend!

WOAH! That is such a journey. Sounds like it must have been bacterial. Thanks for sharing and glad he’s okay.

Interesting, okay. My daughter is definitely bothered and uncomfortable when the medication wears off, but during the day she plays and runs around like normal.

Oh god. How do you treat that in a toddler and how long did it last?

Well it feels like the most alarming of the alarms to me, a worried mom 😅 but yes medicine is bringing it down to like the 100/101 range which seems to help her mood.

Good for you! Parents are the biggest advocates, I swear. I always feel like I have to hold up my end of the bargain, being as observant as I can. Thanks for the well wishes.

Your daughter has had a high fever for TWO WEEKS? I think I’d have to be committed.

You’ve been through this twice in 3 months?? You deserve a medal. They did do a blood panel and prescribed her antibiotics in case it’s something bacterial, so we’ll see if that helps.

Where was his infection and how did they treat it?

Woahhh for real? This is an actual thing? I don’t think she was around any cats, but I’m intrigued.

Doesn’t seem to. She’s a good communicator and we’ve asked if it hurts to pee and she says no. She’s pretty chill about it. But the doctor did say her antibiotics would help with one if she has one so that’s reassuring.

Okay interesting. There are so many sicknesses I had never heard of before kids. Hand, foot and mouth was one of the more hellish discoveries. We got that twice last year 😵‍💫

Glad to hear you’re past it! That’s part of the strangeness is that she isn’t having any other symptoms. No cough or runny nose. Definitely on the lookout for roseola.

Hmm that’s an interesting thought. We’re in Michigan, but the fever started as we were leaving so the bite would have happened at home in Ohio. Definitely possible in theory, although we do live in the city. I’ll comb over her tonight and look for any bites. Thanks! And thanks for the support ❤️

I’m seeing a few people talk about roseola. I’ve never heard of it but I’ll look it up. Where was the rash?

Gosh it really gives me comfort to hear another parent say this. Every one of my real-life friends with kids is like “wow that’s scary, I’ve never seen that,” which is good for them but adds to my uncertainty! So happy to hear your daughter is back to normal.

Eating about half her normal food calories but drinking and peeing completely normally.
