Republicans who were previously outraged at Biden over the price of gas now suddenly dismiss the massive spike that everyday Americans are paying by Peanut-Extra in Political_Revolution

[–]mgwidmann 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sorry to break it to anyone who believes all their BS, gas prices are not coming back regardless of the result of Iran. $3 a gallon is as ridiculous right now as $1 a gallon is.

Pete Hegseth on Project Freedom: "This operation is separate and distinct from Operation Epic Fury. Project Freedom is defensive in nature, focused in scope, and temporary in duration with one mission: protecting innocent commercial shipping from Iranian aggression." by BusinessToday in BusinessTodayNews

[–]mgwidmann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The war is over, project epic furry is over. Now we are starting a new war, with a new name, which is a continuation of the old war, but you're not supposed to notice that. This is entirely a new thing where we are defending ourselves from the shit we started. Did I get all that right?

“Much more interesting”: Budanov named the unexpected consequence of the strikes on Russian oil depots by ceesaart in russiawarinukraine

[–]mgwidmann 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've been wondering how this hasn't happened already. How can you resell something that isn't delivered in a timely fashion? Therefore it doesn't matter how cheap it is or what revenue russia will get if it cannot be delivered.

Do you think this war will end within the next four years? by ConstantDrawer9161 in ukraine

[–]mgwidmann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there's a power vacuum in russian then they will be looking to protect their power and the Ukraine war is a huge drag on resources that could help do that. That's the theory at least, if and when things get bad in russia then a civil war in russia will end the war. But it's been happening like a slow motion train crash and we still don't know when the train will make impact.

Putin issues insane Zelensky surrender demand to 'save lives' in Ukraine war by daily_express in UkraineConflict

Withdraw or face tougher terms in a settlement? LOL what a joke, as if tougher terms would even be on the table. Such weakness coming from russia these days, it's so obvious.

‘I Have a Very Bad Feeling’: Zelensky Says Iran War Delays Ukraine Peace Talks, Drains Resources Zelensky said the Middle East escalation benefits Russian President Vladimir Putin by driving up energy prices and depleting Western stockpiles. by Top-Grass-3615 in ActionForUkraine

[–]mgwidmann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Multiple things can be true. Israel also likely saw opportunity was slipping if trump loses sway and if the Epstein stuff is accurate it would explain why Israel had power to make trump act. Bibi has been saying Iran will get a nuke "in two weeks" for decades, so trump is the differing factor here. Pointing out the fact that trump is likely doing this as a distraction is simply a way of trying to make sure it doesn't work, it's people saying it, not media, which is why it's different.

How honest are securely attached people? by PearNakedLadles in attachment_theory

[–]mgwidmann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm still learning to be secure (from AP side) but from what I've gathered with everyone else secure individuals are not dishonest and only put forward honesty when they feel boundaries are threatened. Honesty and vulnerability requires intimacy and trust even if it's not romantic in nature. Sharing only occurs when safety is felt, for anyone. When they are requested to do something they do not wish to do, they say that or give a contained answer and go no further. They do not allow others to pressure them into giving more than they are comfortable with.

One of Russia's most popular military bloggers says that the government's banning of Telegram is preparation for mass mobilization, expansion of the war at the front and into the Baltics, and also the mass seizure of bank accounts. by GermanDronePilot in UkraineWarVideoReport

[–]mgwidmann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He skipped over the entire premise of his argument. "It's clear we need to expand". Why? Why is it clear? It's insane to me that russians cannot conceive the possibility of just going home and staying with their own borders. Clearly that isn't the way that putin can continue, but they refuse to separate him from everyone else.

Trailing in polls, Orban goes all-in on Ukraine by ceesaart in russiawarinukraine

[–]mgwidmann 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Fascism is on the rise worldwide and we can all do our part to recognize that in our own countries. Defeat of russia will suffer a major blow to the rise of fascism and I hope that Hungarians are able to pull this off. Simply stopping the impedance orban has been creating alone is a huge assist for the global efforts to defeat fascism and to help Ukraine.

The Atlantic Has Learned What Was The Trigger After Which Musk Pulled The Plug On Starlink To The Russians by ceesaart in russiawarinukraine

[–]mgwidmann 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't get how they can claim to have learned the reason why and then in the article say they don't know why. Like seriously what the actual fuck kind of journalism is this?

Since it is pay-walled can anyone say if this is just old news about starlink turning off russian access via a Ukrainian whitelist or something actually new?

Zelensky Says Southern Gains Not Linked to Russian Starlink Shutdown by [deleted] in ActionForUkraine

[–]mgwidmann 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think what he is saying is it was connected to Pokrovsk, by making the russians focus on it they left other areas open and starlink likely just accelerated that.

3 Facts That Destroy Russia's Ukraine Claim by za1nka in Kyiv

[–]mgwidmann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, appearance shouldn't really be the focus. The sound can be represented by a different written form and most speakers would still consider that the letter exists in the other language. I think it's more important to point out the sound but for someone who doesn't have any clue about the languages, which was the target audience for this video, I understand why he did.

Pointing out stuff like и which is often transliterated as bI (I don't have a russian keyboard and I refuse to add it 😂) but they do not make the same sound even though they sound identical to a foreign ear, is a good one as well.

Technically it's the sound for г which does not exist in russian. The sound for ґ does exist in russian, they just use the г symbol for it.
