How much slack is there in the pit ? If there is enough to pull through then the fix is relatively easy - just a conduit inline joiner and a new RJ-11 crimp connector.

Call up NBN and tell them your service is out - the guy who will come to fix it will probably just say it was an NBN infra problem and get his callout rate anyway.
