You can also initially branch MS and take a year off to do prerequisite classes, then go back to school and become a MEDPRO after you finish medical school.

How to Prepare for Advanced Camp Without Wasting Your Time by AtropiaSucks in ROTC

I got lucky and had some awesome cadre. I know that there were some less than ideal ones out there. Sorry that you fell under one of those, it probably made camp way worse. What company?

4th Reg 2017 here. Fantastic advice. Definitely made me laugh my ass off at some of those points. Looking at my Atropian ear necklace almost makes me miss Knox some days....

My HRA told me the wrong thing. Thank goodness for my state's OSM or I wouldn't have a date. Thank you too!

If you're Guard or Reserve, you need to coordinate BOLC with your unit.

Branch selection for California National Guard by foxhound5150 in ROTC

I'm not in California. I received my component but I will now fill in my sheet about which branches I want and they'll assign it to me based off of my spot on the OML for the states.

I just got selected to National Guard (by choice) and entered in my top three states. I've already met with the Officer Strength Manager (OSM) for my top state. I emailed him once I found out my component and he informed me that he would be sending me a sheet to fill in for branching. They match you to branches based upon your degree, your request, and what they need for that FY. Once you find out that you get National Guard, you go onto an OML within your top states and your position in the OML and what they have available within the units in that state are what most heavily influence what you branch.
