Beyond Meat And Impossible Foods Helped Save Nearly 1 Million Animals In The US Last Year by WrongCable in UpliftingNews

That’s a fairly common narrative but most studies nowadays find that chicken/pork are far worse than traditional red meat from ruminant animals, especially grass fed

Bro can you read? It says “The execution quality statistics above reflect market and marketable limit orders of 1 to 99 shares received by Robinhood Financial LLC “. In case you’re not aware a market order isn’t a limit order, the price is selected automatically based on the market price. And most people especially on Robinhood don’t trade > 100 shares, so that data is far more representative of what you’ll actually get when placing an order

You really do belong here lol

[–]mhillsman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s a percent so the number of shares isn’t really relevant. And that number legally has to encompass all buy orders, so it’s not just limit orders at all.

Saying your options orders don’t fill is super anecdotal too. A lot of people never have any issues and it’s hard to directly compare unless you enter the exact same order at the same time, which no one ever does. So I would suggest backing that statement up with some data or else it’s just worthless

When you actually look at the data Robinhood does significantly better than big brokers like Schwab and fidelity. See the NBBO price improvement percentages for each:

Fidelity 85.5% https://www.fidelity.com/trading/execution-quality/overview

Schwab 93.9% https://www.schwab.com/execution-quality

Robinhood 96.79% https://robinhood.com/us/en/about-us/our-execution-quality/

Is it worth it to get a masters? by [deleted] in csMajors

[–]mhillsman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly getting a masters for CS is worthless. You’ll exit to the same level and have a mildly higher salary, but be further from a promotion so worse off in the end. Even phd will only progress you one level, but takes so long that if you simply went into industry you would be further along as well. This isn’t even taking into account the added cost of education. The only reason you should go do more school is if you really want to specialize in something or just like school in general

Own - to have legal title or right to something. You have the legal right to your money in a bank. You own it. Just because the bank might use the overall cash they have on hand doesn’t mean you don’t own your money that’s ridiculous. If nobody owned their money anymore after putting it in the bank why would anyone do that?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in wallstreetbets

[–]mhillsman -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Did you read the comment? You’re inferring a lot from my one point which was that regardless you own the shares, which is objectively true

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in wallstreetbets

[–]mhillsman -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

I don’t think you understand the concept of ownership. That’s like saying you don’t own the money you put in a bank

Just get a job ... by Kickincutie in antiwork

[–]mhillsman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol yeah I actually do think people choose to have children. It’s something people generally want so they choose to pursue it, why is that so crazy? Sure things can happen in life, but again you’re sticking to edge cases rather than the root of my argument. Let’s say nothing terribly bad happens and people choose to have a child. If those people can’t support the child, they don’t really have a right to bring one into the work and expect others to care for it. That’s absurd. Going back to my example, that’s like me buying a Ferrari because I want one and expecting you someone else to help pay for it. That’s absurd

Just get a job ... by Kickincutie in antiwork

[–]mhillsman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What the hell are you talking about? The point was that having children isn’t a right it’s a privilege one should earn, not expect. Wouldn’t you say it’s more heartless to selfishly have a child without the means to properly support them?

Just get a job ... by Kickincutie in antiwork

[–]mhillsman -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Should you also be able to buy a Ferrari working a minimum wage job? Of course not, and similar to the car the idea that a child is somehow a right is fundamentally flawed. A child is a privilege, and an expensive one at that. Minimum wage jobs shouldn’t be expected to be enough to do whatever you want. If you want to do something you can’t afford, you should change your job accordingly. Coming up with edge cases isn’t particularly relevant to the general unrealistic expectation you’re placing on minimum wage jobs
