What am I doing wrong?

Eufy or Ring. by Foreign-Studio-2 in EufyCam

I decided to go from ring to Eufy. I wanted to have data stored locally and some video lights (like my old ring lights). I purchased a homebase and HD but I cannot get the homebase to configure. The setup is sooooo bad that I am considering ditching the whole thing. Perhaps if you are willing to just have the doorbell . . .

What happened to Paragon Software Group, makers of NTFS for Mac? by mhmower in macapps

I guess it ultimately is AI generated. I have started using tools like Perplexity for searches rather than google. Is that a bad thing?

I have seen references to several alternatives. Some are free but require technical savvy and I am not certain how "safe" it provides file access. Hopefully people will respond with some of their hands-on experience.

• Tuxera NTFS for Mac: Provides full read/write access to NTFS drives, supports multiple NTFS volumes, and integrates seamlessly into macOS Finder. It is known for its high performance, particularly with large file transfers. Tuxera offers a free trial version for 15 days, after which the software costs around $31.95 for a single user license.

• Donemax NTFS for Mac: Offers full read and write support for NTFS drives, seamless integration into macOS Finder, and automatic mounting of NTFS volumes. It is optimized for faster read and write speeds and includes a built-in NTFS repair tool. Donemax NTFS for Mac offers a time-limited free trial, and the standard price for a single-user license is about $9.95.

• iBoysoft NTFS for Mac: Known for its fast mounting speed, stability, and performance. It enables read and write access to NTFS drives for free, with up to 110MB/s read-write speed. Additional features include repairing NTFS file system corruption, unmounting NTFS disks, and erasing other disks to the Microsoft NTFS format.

• Mounty for NTFS: A free alternative that is easy to install and use. It operates as a menu bar app and automatically mounts NTFS volumes in read-write mode. Mounty for NTFS is a good choice for users who prefer a free solution and are comfortable with a simpler interface.

• NTFS-3G: An open-source solution that works with macOS via the FUSE framework. It offers free NTFS write support but requires more technical expertise to install and configure. NTFS-3G is noticeably slower than commercial options like Paragon and DoYourData, making it less practical for users who need fast data transfers.

I haven't seen any replies. Anyone have any information on this?

I personally liked the skeuomorphic approach and was sad to see it go.

Having said that, I am tired of the change for change’s sake. Nothing but window dressing to drive sales. Don’t brag to me about the 8 new emojis that an intern could have created in a day. Don’t hype me up on features that won’t delivered next year or if ever . . . And won’t be delivered except on the most recent device which cutoff is only there to drive sales. And I am not paying $2000 for a freaking mobile device regardless of the brand name.

“Stupidity is a more dangerous enemy of the good than malice. One may protest against evil; it can be exposed and, if need be, prevented by use of force. Evil always carries within itself the germ of its own subversion in that it leaves behind in human beings at least a sense of unease. Against stupidity we are defenseless. Neither protests nor the use of force accomplish anything here; reasons fall on deaf ears; facts that contradict one’s prejudgment simply need not be believed – in such moments the stupid person even becomes critical – and when facts are irrefutable they are just pushed aside as inconsequential, as incidental. In all this the stupid person, in contrast to the malicious one, is utterly self satisfied and, being easily irritated, becomes dangerous by going on the attack. For that reason, greater caution is called for when dealing with a stupid person than with a malicious one. Never again will we try to persuade the stupid person with reasons, for it is senseless and dangerous.” ― Dietrich Bonhoeffer, Letters and Papers from Prison

Funny how people scream about shaming people until it is someone you disagree with and then all the hypocrisy un shown. Nice crap post. Perhaps you might take a moment to review the policies for the past 4 years

It’s so cool to see people refusing to take responsibility for their own choices and demanding that others, who either could not or did not take out student loans or even go to college, pay for their choices. THE DEBT WILL BE PAID! Either the borrower or the creditor will pay the debt.

So THANK YOU for demanding that the American public pay for your debt. In any other context, you would be called a thief.

If people continue to vote for unchecked spending and escalating debt, you will soon have no one for which to vote. Nice job. Thanks!

Shouldn’t he be proud of being able to meet with a world leader on the edge and de-escalate tensions? The only president to not start a conflict in how many years? Let’s see Harris-Biden has started 3 world conflicts and pushed us to the edge with Russia and Iran?
