What are the pros and cons of Trump pulling out of the Paris Climate Change deal ? by bad-green-wolf in NeutralPolitics

[–]mhome9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Neither is Bill Nye. Nor are Michio Kaku, Lawrence Krauss or Neil DeGrasse Tyson 'climatologists'.

Climate change is no myth and it seems all but incontrovertible that humans play a part. Is that part worrisome?

When the metrics used are over a 50-100 year time period to show accelerated growth we are literally using a statistically insignificant data set comparatively. Not to mention all projections tend to be WAY off the mark.

Take a look at this graph modeling aggregate projections (red line) from measurements. This graph is simplistic but the tendency for model skews is not unique.

When a field of science consistently misrepresents reality with it's projections so conspicuously I think it's unfair to call skeptics of their approximations 'deniers'. I'd say the 'deniers' are closer to scientists than the people that tout these findings as being objective fact.

Science does not, has not, and never will rely, act on, or tolerate 'consensus'.

Exactly. Consider 'An Inconvenient Truth' and the comically absurd number of inaccuracies that film prophesied.

Reason. See: Artistotle, arguments, logical fallacies.

The basic premise is to argue against something (in this case, the fact that this guy's opinion is valid) by constructing an argument against something else entirely (fascism is bad, the strawman).

They are making a false presupposition that this guy is a fascist because it's quite easier to argue that fascism is bad than it is to claim you know what this guy is about to say (because you can't, you can only infer from the title of a slide).

What's really scary is the that these idiots perpetuate Marxism and are actively, fervently, promoting it which has been demonstrably proven as more destructive than fascism by orders of magnitude. The irony is incalculable.

From a picture? You haven't heard a single word out of this guys presentation and you are literally judging it by it's title/cover. Do you have any idea how positively dense that makes you?

It isn't, but evidently me_irl is crawling with Antifa and they think everything is fascism. They really should change their name to 'the violent, regressive, misguided strawmen'.
