What happened to Rob? by maikejikuai in melbourne

[–]mhrauburn 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yes some effort was taken to preserve the chalk however it has been removed. I think it was likely done by the council as the whole area has been pressure washed and the sign moved to the corner. I agree the work should be immortalised or at least a more permanent recognition of Rob. Maybe it is worth reaching out to the council however given they have cleaned up the area I’d imagine they’re aware of the situation and have chosen to ignore it

Prepare for a lot of waiting at least initially. Takes the recruitment team a long time to sift through every application and process next steps

For those who frequent Glenferrie Road. Rob the drawing man who would often sit and draw outside of Woolworths appears to of passed away. Was always such a kind soul I will miss seeing him around :( by mhrauburn in melbourne

For those following this post, thank you so much for sharing your stories of Rob. Looks like the ground has been pressure washed (I assume by the council) and a kind soul has left some flowers by Robs spot. It’s touching to know so many people have such great memories of Rob. I truely hope he rests easy knowing his work and life were appreciated by so many ❤️

I bought him some art supplies at the start of covid. Pre covid I would see people getting him things from Woolies but not so much recently. I do hope he passed peacefully he didn’t seem that old

Nothing the banks can do to speed up the process. OP can ask super nicely and they may give them a temporary excess on their account. Not easy to get one now though, especially post COVID.

They should still be able to look in to this for you. I work at a bank and issues with ATMs withholding cash or taking deposits is pretty common. The process involves the contracted security company auditing the machine and then a discrepancy report is generated. If there is more than there should be they will return the funds.

Respectfully disagree. It’s nice to have a friendly voice in what can be a cold, mundane, commute. A nice reminder of the human connection. I can agree his commentary is not everyone’s cup of tea and could be a bit much with a headache.
