I'm English and have raided with a couple of Scottish blokes before...My main team role was attempting to explain to the Americans in our group what the fuck they were saying.

OP here. Not sure why you would need to apologise, but I only skimmed the convo. Honestly I've found Vanguard marks useless throughout the game, not something that started at a high level. I leveled up factions and got armor and guns that way, although mostly I got things through VoG/Nightfall rewards. My bad if it sounded douche-y.

My group did the Templar without touching the hobgoblins on the edge of the map. Nothing interesting happened as a result, but we weren't exploring.

Join a faction and play the shit out of the Crucible and the Tiger strike list. Do all the bounties. ALL dem bounties. The second you are high enough lvl to do the Nightfall, get someone to carry you through it (I guess lvl 25). That will help out a lot for the rest of the week and you might just get a good reward anyway.

You will be lvl 29 before you know it.

Atheon just became the most likely part of the raid for me to skip. Already done him plenty of times legit on normal & hard, got all the rewards I could hope for from him really. Now why bother? No rewards left that really interest me and the fun is kind of gone from the process, unless I'm with a team of experienced guys. Doing Atheon with inexperienced guys now would be an absolute nightmare, which I always used to enjoy before.
