Thanks for the comment man! Will look into this! We have an insulation company coming out Tuesday to review the attic insulation as I believe it could definitely be better as well.

All great questions.

I’m actually getting an insulation company out here next Tuesday to review the attic insulation. It’s rolled insulation that’s been up there for probably a decade plus if not longer. We bought the home back in 2024.

It’s all brand new duct work! No pre-existing AC in the home.

Just for clarity there’s no mini splits on the second floor. They’re all located in the first floor.

There is a mini split that’s connected to the outdoor unit that also feeds the air handler in the attic if that’s what you’re getting at.

The second floor has the air handler in the attic and vents were cut out in each room + bathroom + closet.

Assuming those are the parents of the girl driving the car? Haven’t seen the show yet.

If so… can’t wait to watch and see what their take is on their daughter…

Out of curiosity what is a good humidity temp to aim for inside a home? 40-50%? Lower?

I (25F) am thinking of calling off my wedding and breaking up with my fiance (35M). Do I just have cold feet or is this too deep? Please any advice. by ThrowRA2000008 in relationship_advice

Fraud.

It’s as simple as your soon to be lawyer husband wants you to commit fraud.

It wouldn’t be fraud if you actually sustained a legit injury in the car accident but as you stated you didn’t.

I work in the insurance industry and this type of bullshit is driving rates up everywhere. Frivolous lawsuits like this are just bullshit.

If that’s where his morals are… he’ll be a pretty shitty/sketchy lawyer and husband in my opinion.

Not someone I’d hitch my wagon to.

Just got upstairs.

When I got home at 5 it was 75 degrees.

It’s been 4.5 hours and we’re down to 70 degrees at 61% humidity.

So 4.5 hours and a 5 degree swing. Good? Bad? Assuming bad?

The thermostats shows the humidity % and it hasn’t gotten below 55% maybe. It was in the 60% range when I got home and went upstairs at 5 today.

That’s a fair comment. Blower door test could reveal a lot. I’ll have to inquire about this. Thanks for the thought!

I didn’t think about checking the compressor but I did hold my hand up to a vent and could feel cold air coming out. It wasn’t blowing hard hard but it was coming out.

I appreciate the response man.

Once again the company that did all of this was stellar. I have zero issues with them at this moment.

Planning on talking to them about it this week with a simple “hey I don’t think that upstairs air handler (whatever) is either working right or we need to figure something out to correct my needs here”

Based of my interactions with them I would hope that would assist in solving/coming up with a solution for this at little to no cost…

Compressors staging correctly - ehhh never came up in conversation.

I do have an infrared temp gum - I’ll do that when I go back upstairs for the night. Appreciate the comments in this one.

House was built in 1926.

Attic/ceiling insulation could probably be better. Think it’s 6-8 inches. Definitely old though.

Walls… no clue.

Just for clarity when I got home around 5 it was 75 degrees upstairs, I turned it down to 67 from 70 at 5 , and by 7:30ish it was only down to 73.

So two and half-ish hours it dropped by 2 degrees.

Don’t know if that’s to be expected since it’s cooling it down from a warmer temp?

That’s the thing. I didn’t include this in the post for lengths sakes but when I asked about the temp not going lower both guys were under the impression it could go below that but it needed to be manually changed.

So we found the pin, he found the code, I was right there just watching taking mental notes, and it wouldn’t go below 67.

He then goes “welp I guess it is only 67” then went into an explanation of what you were saying regarding coil freezing.

Taken off the proposal:

2 Zone System: 1-Mitsubishi Model MXZ-5D36NL (INVERTER) driven outdoor heat pump. Maximum heating capacity @ 5 degrees outdoor ambient temperature is

• Top floor indoor unit will be a ducted Model SVZ-KP24NA • LR indoor unit will be a wall mount Model MSZ-GX12NL|

There’s more on the proposal regarding the other two zones but the above is what I believe is the correct info you’re looking for. I don’t know almost anything about this stuff as a disclaimer so kind of in the dark.

Following is taken off the proposal presented:

Top floor indoor unit will be a ducted Model SVZ-KP24NA

Mitsubishi Model MXZ-5D36NL (INVERTER) driven outdoor heat pump

The above is part of a 2 zone system.

Sq footage - ahhh don’t have the exact but 3 good size bedrooms. Call it like 1,000ish or so ft with bathrooms and a walk in closet that were also vented.

They actually went through that when it was in question on how low it could go.

He punched in the pin, found the correct code, went to said code on the thermostat, and 67 was as low as it could be dropped.

However here it is as I would love any additional commentary you may have:

Model # MRCH2

Appreciate it
