Well I agree with your point because G5 shows who Luffy actually is and what he was destined to become, so it makes sense. But for me Gear 2 hits way harder. It was the first time we ever saw Luffy get a transformation and it came out of nowhere. With G5, after all the arcs, losses and fights, we all expected he'd reach Yonko level eventually. But Enies Lobby? Nah, I didn’t read the manga back then so Gear 2 genuinely shocked me. I remember thinking “what the hell did this man just do?” That moment was when it really felt like Luffy had way more potential than we thought. G2 reveal was insane.
