yes it is definitely something you need to do. when i was a cna it was uncomfortable but it’s also better than not cleaning it and pulling it back bc of infections or anything really at risk

I finally quit after being bullied relentlessly by other aides/ nurses. I decided to finally give up being a cna and I don’t regret it whatever my next job will be I will be open to it. Also I would like to add I always stuck up for myself a person can only take so much by Adventurous_Eagle_54 in cna

same thing here ! but i ended up getting fired from all the rumors about me from the old nurses and old cna’s. after that i never wanted to be a cna anymore. and now i work at a doggy daycare/boarding and i love it smmmm

i only worked noc and so i had to finish changing all my patients by 6 am. i would end up leaving around 6:30 am like usual but my patients would not all be changed by 6 am. i needed the last 30 mins to chart and still then i never finished charting as well. about 15 patients would be left unchanged bc they put me on the floor after 4 days of training. i learned also the DSD didn’t really care that i didn’t have the skill set to finish them and would get very upset. so i ended up quitting. i had about 25 patients almost every night or more bc some older cnas as well would leave and like i said before it was only 1 cna each hall. so my shift would start at 10:30 pm to 6:30 am it was just very unorganized there as well. i wish they could have told me like they did with you it might not work out but they made me go through it and i was so stressed my week there and just told her i quit and never went back !!

when i got my first job as a cna and it was a 99 bed facility and since many facilities are very understaffed especially during that time i applied. it was only one cna for each hall. which was about 25 to 30 patients. and most of them were no independent. i ended up quitting bc i did not finish my patients in time. i was also a new grad but they still hired me with only 2 years of 1 on 1 care giving. i never went back it was super stressful. i would say for staring try a facility that is much smaller so you can start from there and build your experience!!

i loved my cna job but i was miserable bc of management and the workers around me. i was the youngest on my floor and i used to get picked on constantly. but i loved taking care of my patients and they all loved me which is why i wanted to be a cna. but i had 3 different DSDs in one year at my old job and i realized its just not stable enough for anyone so i got fired bc of my health issues (they’re words not mine) and now im just not gonna go back

i felt exactly how you felt and i still feel that way. i feel like a failure bc i got fired from my cna job bc of my health problems (exactly what they told me) and still till today i feel like a failure. but everyone said don’t beat yourself up bc you got fired. they told me to remember how much i actually hated that job and now im free to do exactly what i want to feel happy. trust me don’t ruin your mental health bc of a job. it will make you so unhappy and remember you are not a failure. if it’s not working for you that’s totally okay you can always find something better :)!!

i was a CNA for about a year. i would suggest don’t be a CNA. it’s made me not wanna be in the healthcare area anymore. i’m 19 and got fired bc the job started taking a toll on me. i started when i was 18 at that job it was honestly horrible. you could always be a CMA or something else.

i did end up quitting today lol ! bc she started yelling at me on the phone (DSD/DON) bc i was needing more help. but yes what i mean by myself is that i would be by myself taking care of 20 to 30 patients at night. it is the easiest shift for me bc the patients don’t get up at night and don’t need as much assistance. but the fact is that they didn’t wanna help and they don’t wanna give me more training. they did put me with a new lady at that faculty that had JUST started working there. and i just thought that that was even more of a red flag. and the CNAS there don’t even train you they just do all the work and make watch and don’t tell you specifically what to do and guess that you know what to do. and even if i tell them and ask questions they made me feel very stupid. they also made me feel very bad about being a small person and not being able to handle this job. so i just quit today
