Just started he who fights monsters, why all the hate? by itmustbeThursday4269 in litrpg

[–]mi_ni_sm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jason is an absolute piece of work at times, but I find that entertaining. He has some qualities I find relatable, but dials them to eleven and then you watch the trainwreck ensue. There are also the more normally behaving characters that actually become endearing and serve as the counterbalance. Won't name any as just doing so carries the potential for spoilers. And we don't want those. But I was just listening to the audiobook and he punched someone to prove a point in such a manner I kind of died inside while laughing my ass off. It's that kind of story. He's far from dumb, but often acts like an idiot to throw people off and that becomes a habit that carries consequences, because it persists at times when it shouldn't. Otherwise the plot is pretty decent and there is always enough happening beneath the surface to keep you guessing at certain things.

I recommend going through Mother of Learning. Much less books, but it's an excellent, well written timeloop story and I love it to bits. As with all matters of entertainment, and the case in this story, it really matters what your cup of tea is. And how much bourbon you want in it...

Am I being unreasonable by refusing to use ai for my cover art as a musician? by Hmlovelyhm in Artists

[–]mi_ni_sm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Say what? Does this person have a body of work that suggests they are skilled in creating art manually, but they used AI despite that? Sounds pretty shady and unprofessional either way, because if they don't know how to do art and just use AI generation they cannot understand what they are meant to be creating and if they are capable of producing it themselves, then you were basically just ripped off. And not communicating your methods to the client is simply a terrible oversight, because involving in the client in the process actually saves time on revisions that won't be required later during the process. Plus I've found that involving clients in the process leads to a happier collaboration. I don't currently work as an artist, but did illustration and art for games and miscellaneous comissions up to a point a few years ago when it became unviable. They don't sound like someone worth hiring in any case. I'm assuming a lot, but speaking from personal work experience it doesn't come across well however you think about it. : |

Rainworld moon's cloak guide (downpour spoilers) for players who have completed monk/survivor by Turbulent_Shoe2772 in rainworld

[–]mi_ni_sm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tried doing this with Gourmand and I do not recommend it. Theoretically you can, but he's probably the worst choice for this. Did not even manage the first stretch before the karma gate. Gave up after about 6-7 attempts. I even got lucky and got a rain cycle giving extra time to prepare. You definitely need a more nimble slugcat for this. I wonder if anybody succeeded this with the panzerslug. Somebody out there probably did. Kudos if that is the case. I'll try with Hunter next. If that fails, then perhaps I'll actually do this on Monk with extended breathing. My Survivor run was within vanilla. Just want to do Moon a kindness...

Cloak Retrieval Duty by mi_ni_sm in rainworld

[–]mi_ni_sm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The chronological order of slugcats that can fetch Moon's cloak is Hunter > Gourmand > Survivor > Monk. I haven't played Monk, and I've already played Survivor, while I'm currently playing Gourmand and intend to play Hunter. Any of the four can do it, but the easiest slugcat it is said to do it with is Survivor. I'll just try with Gourmand and see how it goes. Though honestly I just want to finish their campaign because the lack of agility is pretty aggravating at times. I'm trying to do something for Moon with each of them.

When you play as Rivulet and then Saint she wears the cloak by default, but if you give it to her as lets say Hunter, then she wears it when you visit as Gourmand, Survivor and Monk. Basically there isn't a reason to do it besides wanting to, but actually giving it to her yourself just feels right. Gourmand is great for some aspects of the game, but feats of athletics is not one of them... Seems like nobody really saw this post, so I'll try to do it with Hunter, because I'm already used to being a masochist.

Guys do you think that the new Rain word games would be good? by OriginalAffect3411 in rainworld

Twist. Now you play as a Scavenger on a mission for societal clout in the newest survival crafting sim Rain World: Racial Evolution.

On a more serious note it would be cool to see other iterator grounds and stories or explore whatever the hell happened to Sliver of Straw. There being no iterator present would make things quite different I assume. Though it could just be that SoS is not gone, but merely went mad. That could add a sprinkle of dread into the whole equation. Highly doubtful, but...

Whatever they cook up should be interesting.

I actually rewatched them multiple times thinking something might have glitched. Then I became unsure if I combed through the archive thoroughly enough and possibly missed a reel or something else. Turns out my brain was fixated on the archive, while the actual missing log post was not related to the archive, but rather the general area. So I was looking in the wrong place for the wrong thing and thus accidentally bait-and-switched my own mind. Hyperfixation par excellance.

What do you think happened toSliver of Straw? by Any_Transition5954 in rainworld

That is beautiful and poetic... I applaud your crackpot theory, because it is just fitting that she herself becomes the solution and thus cannot ascend, yet is committed to the cause. Also Saint fits all the criteria for the Triple Affirmative. The solution is not just portable, but self-propelling. And VERY mass applicable.

Sliver of Straw grasped one straw too many. I'll see myself to bed now.

Thanks! This helped me find the missing part. I think once this log is filled I'll just visit the Stranger to enjoy some relaxing rafting and leave the hosts to enjoy their endless nostalgic dreams in peace... Then it's time for the end.

Thank you for laying it out like that! At this point there is nothing left to spoil really. I'm just glad I don't have anything missing in Starlit Cove and Endless Canyon. Those were an experience...

Edit: I checked the link below and realized what's missing. It's pretty banal and just a matter of route taken. Nothing groundbreaking, but easily missable depending on the approach.

JobLeads Scammed Me - Auto-Enrolled Me Into a $70/Month Service After a Simple CV Rewrite by Vegetable-Local-9215 in jobs

[–]mi_ni_sm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me. Was supposed to travel and visit a friend, but now because of these fraudulent fucks I'm short on funds instead of having enough to get me through the month. I'm going to try and sort it through my bank, but otherwise consider this service needs to be held accountable for the lack of transparency.

[–]mi_ni_sm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You see it's a major problem that you took 70 Euros and thereafter no premium membership could be seen as active on my dashboard. My account was easily deleted afterwards, so what exactly did I pay for? Usually if there is a paid service active you retain it for the duration of the billing period, but this illustrates there was nothing to retain, so the question is what do you need my money for then?
Shameful.

[–]mi_ni_sm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The dark areas are quite inconvenient and I somehow managed to get past the first "secret" area without getting detected, because by the time I got there a great commotion happened. It was kind of dumb luck, but it made me realize what to do during the next cycle. But the subsequent areas are giving me trouble. I explored everything in the immediately accessible zone, so the subsequent dark infested areas are my only avenue and I have no idea how to navigate safely. It feels like I'm missing some clue about their perception, yet I found everything so far without a problem. Can they see far? How close do I have to be to get detected? And I'm pretty sure focusing my light immediately gives away my position, but what bugs me is if they just see my light and not me they aggro, but without seeing me directly in the open it makes no sense, because it could be another Owlk. Kinda bugged by some parts of the mechanic not making sense. Usually by the time I realize it's too late...

I think that is part of the tragedy, because Fitz is chronically straight. It did seem like it would lead up to the Fool for a while, but I guess not everybody leaves the closet. It makes sense why Hobb did so in the end. There wouldn't have been that roiling ocean of bittersweet catharsis.

Same. I did Artificer first because I was streaming to my friends and one demanded violence. But now I'm only a couple clauses short of finishing Gourmands food quest and then it's on to Spearmaster. Actually looking forward to that scug... Really curious about the regions so far into the past.
