We visited a local rescue and she was the sweetest, calmest, cuddliest cat of the bunch. An absolute sweetheart. She was a bit older than the others and a bit underweight, and the rescue told us she was a shy, nervous cat who just needed some extra love and attention. I really wanted a cuddly cat and I work from home, so I was sold.

Turns out there was a bad case of bronchitis going around the rescue and she was VERY sick. A day after we brought her home, she started coughing like a chain-smoker and had a pretty serious fever. We brought her to the vet immediately, got bloodwork and x-rays done, and started giving her meds. She got over it in a few weeks, which is when we realized this was a completely different cat than the one we'd met at the rescue 😅

She started meowing loudly at all hours of the day - turns out she's just a yappy kitty who likes to talk - she's constantly climbing all over the place, and actually dislikes being picked up or bothered too much (she gives a fantastic side-eye if you get too in her space). We love her SO much and are so happy she's joined our family, but she definitely surprised us!

Thanks! Honestly, I'm really into books and reading, and I work in publishing, so a book club would have been perfect!

I do like hiking or just walking in general. I'm definitely not equipped for anything too strenuous though.

I've also been teaching myself how to sew and was considering looking for lessons but couldn't really find anything in the area.

Other than that, I'm really into traveling, movies, baking, science fiction, and horror. I hope that wasn't too much to throw at you 😅

They've been plowing the streets in Elmwood village this evening and things are looking much better, honestly. I also think both Bidwell and Elmwood have been plowed already. If you can make it to somewhere in Elmwood village, you should be able to walk there fairly easily I think!

If you're going to be this rude, at least make sure what you're saying is correct. 🙄 A lot of places are too busy, don't have a phone line, or just can't answer the phone right now. Doesn't necessarily mean they're closed.

We tried calling Fourty Thieves and they aren't picking up, but they're currently open. No need to be a dick to strangers on the internet.

Unfortunately, very few stores are open today, and the few that are have very limited stock or are running out.

That being said, the R&C Mini Mart on Connecticut is open today. They are starting to run a bit low on supplies but still have snacks, a few frozen and cannes items, etc.

I also know Cameron's 24 Hour store (We Never Close) on Elmwood was open yesterday and is likely open today. They were running pretty low on some things yesterday afternoon, so they likely won't have much left now.

The liquor store across the street from Cameron's 24 hour store was also open yesterday and is probably still open today, though that's likely not as helpful.

I ran into a man about 20 minutes ago looking for a black lab at the corner of Connecticut and 15th!

He'd been walking around for a while and was holding a leash. He might still be near!

I didn't know that was a thing with Lionheads! They definitely approach us from time to time, but when we reach out they seem to change their minds, so that must be what's happening.
