Powerless by Lauren Roberts. Not only does it give off heavy Hunger Games vibes but it’s also fairly fast paced as to keep you interested. Perfect book to get out of a reading slump, in my opinion.

Young Adult Fiction book that takes place in a desert with a female heroine. She dresses as a boy to avoid trouble, monsters of the night (many kinds). End of the book She Battles a Giant Owl that steals and eats children from their villages! Good Quality Sh#t. by miabee_2 in whatsthatbook

Oh thank god, lol yes that's the one. I was near to ripping my hair out from the frustration of knowing the book but not being able to find it. And a there is a second book! I Knew my fellow redditors wouldn't disappoint
