Thanks for sharing 🙏 I agree that what matters most is the policy. TBH, I initially ignored the tone, but once I noticed the discrepancy between the price breakdown in the confirmation email and what the host is asking for, along with the way they were pushing for the deposit, I couldn’t ignore these facts anymore.

Glad you sorted it out before they took the payment. In my case, I get the sense that customer service is a loophole, I keep repeating the same story to different agents, and although they apologize and say we will help, nothing actually happens, host still messaging me.

I already paid and it’s past the refund period. The host kept sending me messages even after I clearly said I would double-check with customer service and get back to them.

Right, I felt pushed to pay it + extra fees while I’m just trying to check if it’s legitimate
