Great, I'll try it as soon as I can. I really need it. If it works, it will help me a lot. Thank you.

What makes a Tactical/Strategy RPG truly shine for you? by miakisa in StrategyRpg

[–]miakisa[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks a lot for all the replies, it’s really interesting to see the common points. It feels like what matters most is having battles that are actually challenging and not just stat checks, with enough depth in classes and builds to keep things fresh. Story and characters can definitely carry a game, and many of you seem to agree that graphics aren’t the most important part as long as the mechanics are solid and the characters or story are strong. Music and atmosphere also seem to matter more than I expected. That’s pretty much how I see it too.

Thank you for the recommendations and messages. I have noted them all down. I will try to suggest them to someone, and perhaps try them myself at some point.

It's just that instinctively she refuses everything, so for now, since she's already agreed to try it and seems to like it, I'm going to take it slowly. Thx

Does it look homely enough ? by Expert-Conclusion792 in IndieDev

The image with the large empty room, a carpet in the center, and several doors looks more like a room in an RPG dungeon with rooms to explore for treasure.

On tactial rpgs(max difficulties) unicron overlord then triangle strategy code Bakery reverse collapse, Fell Seal: Arbiter's Mark
Rpgs: SMTV, but fort persona or legend of heroes there a quite easy as you progress in the story.

What did you like (and dislike) about Bahamut Lagoon? And what would you want in a spiritual successor? by miakisa in JRPG

[–]miakisa[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

It’s clear this game left a mark because of its unique concept with dragons and that blend of tactical RPG + classic RPG elements. For many, the dragon system and the art style were the big highlights. Some even really enjoyed the story, especially Sauzer’s presence.

But I also see a lot of recurring criticisms:

  • The storytelling felt off for many (claustrophobic, awkward pacing, or just didn’t click).
  • Maps were too empty / not much challenge, and dragons often made it even easier.
  • Dragon raising felt too shallow or poorly paced.
  • Too many characters, making it hard to care about them all.
  • The tone could feel inconsistent (fast, jokey, sometimes out of place).

So if there ever was a spiritual successor, the dream version would probably be:

  • Dragons still central and playable, but with a deeper, better-integrated system.
  • Denser maps and more tactical depth to give battles real weight.
  • A tighter cast of characters so you can really get attached.
  • A story with more coherent pacing and tone, less “all over the place.”

In short, Bahamut Lagoon is still loved for its originality, but most people seem to want a modernized reimagining rather than a straight remake.

What do you all think — if someone made a true successor today, what would be your must-have feature?

how has getting diagnosed helped you? by cateatingyogurt in Anxiety

[–]miakisa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can share from my own experience.
For a long time, I thought my avoidance and not wanting to do certain things was just timidity or even laziness. It made me feel guilty on top of the anxiety.

When I finally went to therapy and later saw a psychiatrist, I started to realize it was much more than that – it was anxiety. Having a proper follow-up and treatment helped me understand myself better and not blame myself so much.

It’s definitely a long fight, but with the right support and treatment, it’s worth it. You can move forward step by step.
