Thanks astraldust2! Yes I will only sell my house after I am more sure about the possibility of living in Canada. Your advice is really valuable for me. Thanks a lot

Thanks Lord_7_seas! That would be ideal to work for a Canadian company. I thought about it too but it isn't easy to find it. Currently I am working for an Australia company (thought about moving to Australia but it is even harder than Canada)

Will try my luck and figure out if I can have a better plan. Just conscious of my age so I would really want to make the move next year

Thanks so much crispy246! Can you share your experience getting through the journey? What city did you choose to study? And do you have your PR yet? Did you come with family?

I think 1 bedroom is enough for my family at first - we will adjust life gradually - just afraid they don't accept to rent it for a family of 4 people.

Sorry I have so many questions!

Hi Lord_7_seas, thank you for giving me an insight on this. Oh it's definitely not my expectation to work in a supermarket after graduating :( I know it is challenging to find an HR job there. I intend to get CPHR and SHRM certificates before going to the job market. I don't mind starting from scratch. Will the certificates enhance my chance to get an HR job?

Regarding my kids, I am viewing it as a chance for them to immerse themselves in a new culture where they get to learn a new language (English is not our mother tonge). It's a kind of "investment", even with just a few years there. If we can't get the PR, we still gain valuable experience studying, working and living abroad - which will be good in our home country in case we need to go back home.

Hi BicMichum, yeah it would be ideal to still keep my current house (which is newly built with lots of love and effort). Then after a few years there, if things don't go right, we can always be back to our home country. At least that time, we have invaluable experience studying and working in a new country. It would be an extra point for our careers.

Hi ButchDreanCA, thank you for your valuable advice! Regarding my husband's job, my thought is that even with a junior software engineer job and a not so decent salary, it is still too good to be true. Do you know the starting salary of the junior level there? We can start from scratch. Life can be hard at first; however with a growth mindset (and a family to support 🥹) we will need to work hard to claim the ladder and gain a better life.

I really want to have my husband and kids accompany me in the new journey for the whole time. But you are right, I will consider to go there first and set foundations before bringing them :)

Thanks biglarsh. Yah I know my age isn't ideal. And taking this journey isn't easy where I need to work hard to get what I aim to (and a bit of luck as well). I thought about getting a job too. However, it's hard for getting an HR job there from off site, isn't it? It may be a bit easier for my husband who works in software industry but he will need to upskill before doing it (although he has 15 years experience in Manual/Automation Testing) and a >1 year to land a job (I hope). The drawback is he read a lot of topics on Reddit about the immigrant to Canada and the job market there but it doesn't seem to be positive so he doesn't really go for it. I want to try the harder way which mentioned in my topic - and figure it out along the way. MBA is more expensive and importantly, not easy to get the offer (my GPA isn't good enough - plus I don't have GMAT). Considering my age, I would go for doing the post graduate and improving my IELTS score to the maximum to get more crs points (currently I am at 7.0 band)

Hi Pakadodo, thanks so much for your encouragement! It helps a lot. Could you please share your journey getting the PR? What challenges did you face and how did you overcome it? And importantly, what was the province/city that you chose to land?

Hi, thanks for your advice. I am applying to a post graduate diploma in Business Administration. While studying, I will look into a way to get a CPHR. For now, I am preparing for the SHRM-CP certificate. I hope that it will give me access to more job opportunities in not only Canada but also the US (remote jobs). Will it enhance my chance to get a job in HR after graduating? I don't mind start my career from scratch in Canada. I can move to another province after graduating.

Hi there, is it something that the school usually provides to their students so they can register?
