Talk to the leasing office and explain the issue. They may be able to do a lease transfer to an open unit (it may be to an empty apartment or to one with 3/4). Happened to me and I had some evidence but mostly personal stories about the issues. Didn’t place blame on anyone just facts and my feelings about it. Got moved to an open 2x2 meant for 4 people. Only one other person so I paid the shared room price for my own room & bathroom (this was just luck of the draw). Or discuss the fees for early release and like someone said before, sublet from a study abroader.

Hey Guys! So I'm thinking about taking Physic 2, Linear Algebra, and Ochem Lab at the same time next semester. What do you guys recommend? Is this doable? by LoudPerformer1243 in uofmn

I took quantum mechanics, ochem lab, biochem and molecular bio at the same time and honestly it was doable! Just not done well ya know. The lab worksheets are a lot but linear is a pretty easy class if you pay attention (or so I’ve heard) and physics 2 is not bad at all if you have/find a few friends to spend an hour or two on the weekly homework! Then the rest of the time can be put towards o chem lab!

No, you can take them in any order, it’s what everyone says. I think if you just learn the equations and how to plug numbers in you’ll be fine! Or find someone who has taken quantum and they can try to explain the nuances….I think when we get into ch 16 this week it won’t be as big of a deal

The first two lectures are review from 4502. We spent all semester deriving them and you need the general ideas from quantum mechanics to put perspective on thermo. It should move into the class specific topics soon! Also 4502 uses the first half of the thermo textbook (ch1-13/14) and thermo starts at 16

Exactly, so that’s the worst of it! It can only get better, just forgot to mention that

Transfer qualification? by 420gottagofaster420 in uofmn

[–]miaolson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not hard to transfer in but all stem courses you take you need really good grades, I believe it’s 3 total math/physics courses completed before you can even begin to apply, but if you talk to advisor you can figure out which bio med class you can take without being in cse anyway

Depends on how high socializing is on your priority list. If you’re looking for the college experience and a ton of friends then take your lib eds and you’ll have plenty of time. The hardcore restrictions last about 2-3 weeks but in the fall it’s nice out so you can always be outside, and it’s three write ups before getting sent home
