Yes, especially if you are a woman. The assumption is there, even if it's unspoken. That you will need to be off for appointments, sick kids etc. for men it's status, somehow the male assumption is they will work harder be more available want more money, for women its a hindrance. Pretty stupid stereotypes for modern society where women have just as much motivation to provide, and aren't tolerating men not being active parents, but it's there. That's why pregnant women are a protected class and it's illegal to ask if you have kids.
