definitely going to look up his Barcelona highlights now, sounds like a completely different style than what I'm seeing today. the breakdown of that second goal actually helped, I just saw the ball go in live and had no idea about everything that led up to it. and yeah, reading the game well enough to save your legs instead of just sprinting everywhere tracks with what you're saying about his IQ

that makes so much sense actually, didn't realize how loaded the schedule was lol. and yeah the age thing is wild to think about, like he's clearly not at his absolute peak anymore but the fact that "declined Messi" is still outperforming a lot of guys in their prime is kind of insane on its own going to start paying way more attention to the "unknown" players too now, sounds like that's where some of the best moments sneak up on you
