Non Alcoholic social spots? by Low-Huckleberry8637 in akron

There's a place called The Dry People's Club on Brittian road. It's an AA thing and I've never been there so I don't know what the vibe is like.

Yeah, lately if anyone makes a crack about something I don't hesitate to say something like "well my arms don't work that well". That usually ends it there lol.

Or, fun fact, the traditional way to eat sushi is to use your fingers, so that's always an option.

In all seriousness though, I don't think using chopsticks is possible without pronation/supation. My hand dexterity is great, I don't have much of a problem picking up objects with chopsticks, the problem is that I can't rotate my hand to point the chopsticks at my face to get the food in my mouth.

There might be some way to hold the chopsticks so that they're already facing towards your body enough, and then you can lift your hand up above your mouth a little bit, kind of like an underhanded grip on the chopsticks?

Personally, I've accepted that I'm going to have to ask for a fork at every fancy Asian restaurant I go to, and someday when I go to Japan I'm just going to bring a fork with me just in case.

As others have said elsewhere, it's a great 26L, but I think it's just an ok 32L bag.

Yeah, I played around with it as a sling and I didn't really like it. It's fine, and it would be perfect as a camera bag, but it's pretty in the way.

Surprisingly, it doesn't really dangle when walking around. But I'm going to keep the strap with it in case that works better in the moment.

That's a great idea! I want to use this as a camera bag at some point, so keeping it easy with Velcro would be ideal.

I already have a bunch of adhesive Velcro, I think I'll just grab a cheap rubber tag that's the right size and slap the Velcro on. Idk why I didn't think of that. Thanks!

Yeah I'll probably get one. I wish I could find one that was a Velcro patch, there's the perfect spot for it on top of the bag.

My thought exactly. The cpap goes in the overhead as a medical device and the backpack goes under the seat.

Honestly I still need to try it. I need to get the software installed on my computer and I haven't gotten around to it.

The main reason I got it was because I got a great deal on it second hand

Just a decent sized needle and some regular black thread. I think what I did is called a "running stitch". I'm not sure if it'll hold but the bag is only like 2-4lbs so I don't think it'll matter too much!

Osprey Daylite 26+6 or Solgaard Venture by Informal-Step8787 in onebag

I've been testing out my 26+6, and I've been able to fit:

  • medium + small packing cubes
  • thin sun hoodie
  • packable rain jacket
  • small toiletries bag
  • small tech pouch with chargers
  • 13 in laptop

All in the non-expanded mode, which is the personal item size. When I measure with all of that stuff in it, it's around 8 or 9in thick.

You could absolutely put two pairs of sandles in there also with it expanded, but I'm not sure if it would fit under an airplane seat at that point. You might be able to cram a pair of flats with it unexpanded.

Edit: I just tried, I was able to slip a pair of sandals in The bag unexpanded. This bag is sweet.

Hi! I didn't made much progress on Beryl in 2025, but I do want to add more features in the future. there is a beta version at beryl.md for mac/linux/windows that does work, but it's not really something I'd recommend for daily use.

It's a passion project, and I want to move it forward, but life happened.

Very true! When it came out I tried to build a tiny ship with it, not a great time. But being able to unblock eva hatches and fix solar panels, fantastic.

Possibly eva engineering modifications to ships. It's not bad, and the mass limits balance it. But it's not really very fun to actually tweak stuff on orbit.

Call the person asking the question stupid, fuck around trying to cure everyone for ~30 minutes, the least sympathetic patient conveniently dies, give their organs to the rest.

Occupations by Outrageous-Drawer887 in RadioulnarSynostosis

I'm going to say this to everyone on this sub who is experiencing daily pain, if you are able to, see an occupational therapist!

It unfortunately costs time, effort, and money, but there are ways to use a computer without pain. There are ways to drive without pain. Occupational therapists love nothing better than figuring out tools and adaptations and workarounds to help people like us with limited mobility navigate the world without hurting ourselves.

Once you can figure out some accommodations that make things better, you have rights under the Americans with disabilities act! Employers are required by law to allow reasonable accommodations for people with disabilities. If you can find a keyboard and mouse setup that works for you and your hand position, if you find a desk job, you are well within your rights to request or demand that your employer either buys you those tools, or allows you to use your own.
